Wonderful country house hotel with character. Booked 2 nights New Years Eve package with friends and the luxury experience was let down by the food on New Years Eve Gala Dinner.....no choice of menu ......starter Tomato and cheese Tartlet, then pickled herring, main course lamb fillet mash potato ratatouille green beans followed by choc slice.. I have wanted to stay at this hotel for some time, following recommendations from others who have attended weddings, had afternoon tea there etc. I spotted an offer on Secret Escapes and we stayed there for one night the week before Christmas so that we could incorporate our stay with a visit to the Christmas market in Winchester. We had...

The food was superb and visually the presentation was excellent, it is true that one eats with one’s eyes before one’s mouth! Our room was very well furnished and possessed everything that one could wish for, however the bathroom was a triumph of design over function with a very wet shower (literally) the room looked a little like the Somme...

My boyfriend and I spent a night here on New Years Day 2016 and had a fantastic time. It is a truly beautiful property with each of the rooms being unique and having a huge amount of character. We stayed in the Delft room which was stunning and had a beautiful view out onto the mile. The bed in particular...

This is a favourite lunch venue when visiting our family in Hampshire. We have also had a number of private functions at this Hotel and it never fails to impress. The food is excellent and the setting is wonderful especially in the summer where you can eat on the terrace if the weather permits. Service is always impeccable. Stunning.

Had a lovely stay, enjoyed the grounds and the hotel very much, reception staff are great. Beds are so comfy - room was a long way from anything, but was worth it. We had the steak from the bar menu for dinner as the tasting menu did not suit us. Was like butter. So fantastic. Only negative about the stay...

My boyfriend booked a surprise weekend away for us at the Lainston the weekend before Christmas. This fab hotel was not a disappointment! The staff were fantastic and could not do enough and the room was great! Although we did not book a table for dinner, we did eat in the bar one night and the atmosphere was superb, with...

Finding a country house hotel with real character is rare - but this is one of them. A lovely Saturday night stay with an evening meal in the avenue restaurant which at Christmas time felt extra special. The welcome to the hotel was great with a roaring fire In the reception area along with a vibrant Christmas Tree. Lots of...
