By chance, I was in the area so decided to visit and maybe have a quick meal. The restaurant wasn't open for lunch, but they did offer a bar snack. On arriving, we sat in the beautiful garden with the fabulous view of the carriage drive, and ordered two glasses of wine which were served almost immediately. I asked for... More

We visited last weekend as a family of 9 for my husbands birthday on recommendations of work colleagues. My daughter booked in January for 3.00pm. On arrival we were shown a table outside which had seeds from the trees covering it also the tea cups and chairs no attempt was made to clean them we did it ourselves. Our order... More

A lovely country location with a beautiful flowing drive to the property. Nice welcome at check in with willing help to carry bags up the stairs to two of the rooms. The third was a suite on the ground floor which had its own little terrace too. All rooms were prettily furnished and the ones on the top floor were... More

If one pays £29.50 per person for afternoon tea, expectations are naturally high. We have had lunch at Lainston on many occasions over the years, and always felt we had excellent food and service. However, our recent experience of afternoon tea was a very different story. We arrived at 2.30pm as booked and were shown through to the garden overlooking... More

Very nice room and lovely breakfast, but it was a very hot day and the air conditioning was not very effective. Having said that, the hotel staff were friendly and efficient and we look forward to our next visit. Xx

We had tea on the terrace. The setting was lovely. The tea was OK - the scones were delicious but there were too few sandwiches and too many cakes. We had the champagne tea which was outrageously overpriced.

A great hotel located a few miles outside Winchester. We stayed for our Daughter's Graduation and returned to the hotel for lunch. The hotel staff were very thoughtful and as an example; when we booked for lunch requesting a table on the veranda the staff member also provided a contingency facility in the event of poor weather. Luckily the weather... More

My family and I have enjoyed numerous visits to Lainston House, each as equally enjoyable as the last; a much appreciated morning treat! A big range of choice for breakfast with friendly staff, a lovely setting and beautiful grounds. Eggs benedict is delicious; I would definitely recommend and look forward to coming again soon!
