My partner and I spent 2 night here whilst visiting Winchester ,we were made very welcome by the owners Chris and margo and teeny the kitten. The guest house is comfortable and homely and in a good location for a short walk into the city centre . Chris and Margo were helpful and informative about the area and suggested places...

My best pal and I stayed with Margo & Chris on and off every week of June as we were working nearby. Have stayed in many B&B's for this reason over the last 15 years. None have been as relaxing as Our stay here. Our room was quaint and clean and so comfortable. Great shower in our en suite too....

Stayed 1 night in the double room. Disappointed to discover that our bathroom was back down on the ground floor (not en suite). Parking was solved with a Guest Permit which allowed us to walk into town. Our room was reasonably spacious but the only hanging space was occupied by the owners clothes. The rest of the house is very...

Sorry that the house was none too tidy and a bit chaotic- we were in the middle of moving our own rooms around. Improved now. The kitchen is never "filthy"- our cleaner makes sure of that. Generally our guests like and appreciate the house's eclectic and quirky victorian ambiance, and tell us, but clearly a few prefer a more minimalist...

Well its an ok place but my word are the owners sarcastic and unhelpful - not sure why they even chose this profession! The room was ok but we actually left without paying an hour after we arrived. We were concerned that there were dirty cups in the room.

We have no record of anyone under that name from Painton booking in in May, or any other time, or leaving without paying. We pride ourselves on being as helpful as possible to our guests, and NEVER sarcascic. Cups and cutlery are carefully washed after each guest without fail. Chris and Margo Brown

The Ranelagh B&B is a brisk 15 mins from Winchester city centre but the No. 1 buses stop right outside the door. I stayed for one night in the single en-suite room on the top floor. Everything was as I expected and the complimentary tea/coffee was IMO entirely satisfactory, but if you like sleeping with the window open you may...

I stayed here for two nights with my husband and two teenage children. We specifically came to Winchester for the annual Hat Fair and wanted a nice B&B to stay in that wasn’t too far from the city centre, nor too expensive. It has two guest rooms, one a double with basin, and the other a single/twin with ensuite. Although...

I stayed one night in the single en suite room on the top floor, which was quiet, comfortable and cosy. Excellent breakfast and conversation from Chris. A good pub for supper is a few minutes walk away (The Queen) and the cathedral/high street is 10 minutes. I'd be happy to return.

This place may not be everyones cup of tea, a few of the normal extras are missing, the complimentary coffees and teas were very limited and the shower had seen better days as had the TV which was very small, however It provided everything I needed for my one night stay, most importantly was a good nights sleep in a...

This B and B has its quirks. Arriving at 8 pm after a long journey, I felt the welcome was less than effusive but understand that it isn't always convenient for an owner. The room was nice enough, but I felt the notice asking for shoes to be removed was a bit of an imposition. However the owner, Chris, was...

This B&B is an old Victorian building and perfect if you like a house that’s full of character! It had a very homely feel and it was just what we were after for the one night we stayed in Winchester. Chris and Margo were lovely from the start and very accommodating. They show a real interest in their guests needs...
