A lovely pub oozing character. The accommodation was spotless and of a good standard.with everything you would find in good hotels. We had lunch and it was so good we decided to have dinner there too. We were not disappointed, good menu, excellent food and service. All the staff were friendly and totally charming. Breakfast is continental and provided in...

We booked a large double at this friendly, cosy and nicely decorated pub in a residential part of Winchester just 10 mins walk from the City, and very glad we did! We expected it to be nice but were really pleasantly surprised when we were shown to our room. Lovely wooden furniture with good comfortable bed, very clean and modern...

Arrived at midday. Waited 40 minutes for our dinners. Had our vegetables delivered to the wrong table and then had them bought to us from that table after asking us if "everything was alright?". Poor service and very expensive. Not a place to go for a relaxing Sunday dinner. Screaming children, dropped drinks and a ceaseless cacophony. Used to be...

Set in a quiet part of urban Winchester, this is a popular pub with food and rooms. Very accommodating people and nice standard fare. The room was a little dated, the fittings worn and therefore the rate probably about 25% too high.

The King Alfred pub is tucked away in the quiet streets of the Hyde area of Winchester and through lack of parking it is best to walk to it which is very easy from the sports centre car park or the city centre. The pub has a large area for dining and a big garden area with many bench seats/tables....

Lovely friendly welcome. Clean room right at the front so we were woken by the beer delivery in the morning, how ever we were staying in a busy pub so of course we should expect that. Short walk into town. Beautiful setting, great breakfast. Good food altogether.

We stayed just for one night in a small double. The location is really good, a quiet street and just 10 mins walk to the main bars and restaurants A parking permit was provided, with plenty of parking available in the street Room was nice, and comfortable and not really small at all. Shower was not very powerful but adequate...

Cozy PUB with proper pub atmosphere. Very good breakfast and food in general. The room was clean and relatively large. The place is a bit outside the city with quiet surroundings. A little noise from the pub but this was expected and no real problems. The night was calm and we slept well. Winchester is a great place to explore...

Quiet location a 15 minute walk from the Cathedral. Good sized room and bathroom with modern shower. Nice garden at back of pub with plenty of tables. Staff very helpful. Nice pub meal. If late arrival parking in the street outside the pub could be a problem. The pub provides a parking permit for guests staying overnight.

We booked in for 2 nights for the hat fair, originally booked room only but decided to have breakfast at last minute which was no problem and was very tasty! Tea and coffee making facilities in the room were very good and the room was turned down and replenished which was a nice surprise 😊 Adequate room for what we...
