Convenient location with plenty of on-road parking. The owners are friendly and the place is very clean and tidy. The atmosphere is very much of the traditional seaside B&B (in the best way) and it's great value. My room was at the side so was really quiet. Breakfast has a good selection of cereals, juices and fruit but more importantly,... More

We had one night at the Argle and that was enough, when we arrived the owner just gave us our key told us what time breakfast was and said , your room is up the stairs and to the right we were never shown to our room, the room was small which didn't bother us to much but there were... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here last night as we were seeing Frank Turner in the Guildhall and didn't want to drive back to Bournemouth after the show. This place is ideal if your looking for somewhere to stay near the Guildhall, a £5 taxi to the front door or a 10 minute walk. Really welcoming owner, quiet road with... More

Wasn't too impressed when we arrived as the room wasn't en suite as the booking suggested but the room was ok and the bed was comfy and they had two bathrooms just down the hall, friendly welcome in the morning and the breakfast was really nice.....

I recently stayed at the Argyle on a quick 2 day visit to Southampton. I suppose the fact that the Southampton Boat Show was on plus the recent I.O.W festival had been on at the week end meant that accommodation was scarce so prices went up. The Argyle is not in the best area of Southampton but in fairness is... More

I stayed here for 2 nights in a single room with shared bathroom. Location is good....10mins walk from station and easy to find. I arrived early and the lady owner was very amenable and let me to my room. She was friendly and made me feel welcome. In the hall there are lots of leaflets with info on attractions and... More

Shocked to the negative comments regarding this b+b, due to a hotel mess up we ended up booking here for 1 night late on Sunday and on arrival was told no triple rooms available although payment had been taken through booking.com, landlady was kind enough to come out and offer us 2 rooms for the same price to fit me... We were booked to stay at argyle lodge on the 1st August for my girlfriends birthday. We booked through booking.com a triple room. On our drive to Southampton we received a call from the hotel stating that we only have a single room for one person. We said that was outrageous seeing as we had several emails confirming our booking!... More

I am sorry to say that this review is full of lies. The booking was for single occupancy of the triple room at a reduced rate and the booking confirmation clearly stated this. Indeed this was also confirmed by the booking agent to the guest when they called to query the booking. I also posted a copy of this to... More

Being a 29yr old women on my own, I felt safe at argyle lodge. Lovely little bed and breakfast. The lady that run argyle lodge was really friendly. The rooms had everything you needed, clean and comfortable. Also the breakfast was lovely, you could have anything you asked for. If you are just coming to sleep and eat, this lodge... More
