Good quality rooms. Me and my family also opted for breakfast, which was extra, but included in the price we paid for the rooms. The staff was very friendly, providing us with all the information we needed. We stayed there for 4 nights in mid July and it was a hot period for UK overall, but that was not a... More

While the hotel is dated, no-frills, it provides a friendly and reliable service for those looking for a clean and comfortable bed for the night. The hotel has a traditional and lively bar, and an extensive menu of home cooking. The staff were helpful and polite. The room had everything you expect from a decent hotel, with good tv and... Although the hotel is not new it has a fantastic location for walking to the old part of the city. Staff was so friendly and eager to help. We were waiting in the lobby one day, just resting, and the Owner brought us tea! Highly recommend for these reasons.

To look at, the hotel is quaint. From the small car park accessed through an arch (high so accessible to vans) to the smart 24 hour reception. The staff we encountered were friendly and rooms clean, with an ideal location in the heart of the city centre with car park and plenty of eateries in the vicinity. We had a... More

This really isnt a hotel, unless you want a time warp back to the 1960's. Lets make it a journey; Parking: Ok, although they charge GBP4 a day. Check in: Dont - well dont before 1:30pm. Experience ok. Bar: Pah. "We dont open it as there is a Wetherspoons next door" Stairs: Creaky. Lift: I tried to find the name... More

Old hotel with some character features. Position is perfect for shopping and exploring. The meal we had in the bar in the evening was very good, the breakfast served in a bit of an old fashioned way, but tasty and, for us, plenty of choice. People who expect a massive buffet with different sorts of bread and roles etc., might... More

There's no doubt this hotel is tired BUT don't write it off from your consideration list. It's very conveniently located for restaurants. My room had creaky floors but the bedding and towels were immaculate, it was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfy, the shower was hot, and there was complimentary wine and water. Staff were friendly too.

This hotel definitely needs updating and a good clean! Not impressed at all! I am glad we only stayed for one night. Not worthy of a 4 star rating. We even got woken up early in the morning by a faulty smoke alarm. However the bed was clean and quite comfortable We will not be returning.

The staff were really friendly at this hotel. The rooms were dated and bed uncomfortable. It's really in need of renovation and decorating. We booked this hotel as there was a ship in and no other hotel rooms available. For one night it was ok any longer and we would be in trouble!

Good points: Staff were friendly and free wifi. Bad points: The rooms were small, the hotel was tatty, the wall paper was coming off, the windows were nailed shut so no fresh air! Was roasting not to mention if there was a fire I would be toast! The shower was rubbish, the decor is dated to put it nicely! Reminded... More
