First time back in Southampton in twenty years and chose in haste. My bad. From the outside the the Winston looks fine and it is for a PUB. This is not a Hotel. It is rooms above a pub. Advice stay clear of room 7. You are on Archers Road and all road noise is audible, very audible. How many...

We stayed for two nights whilst visiting family and friends in the area. Our room was clean, very comfortable bed, spacious ensuite shower room. We dined in the hotel once, the food was tasty and good value.

The staff were scatterbrained and not particularly helpful. The rooms were small and satisfactory, although they could be a lot nicer. There were lots of little problems - the glasses weren't clean, the shower was extremely weak, the window didn't shut properly. Not the worst place I've ever seen but don't expect more than the bare minimum.

We stayed at a nearby guesthouse and had lunch and dinner here because it was so close. 5 dishes altogether and they were good. The lunch soup and dinner lamb were especially nice. Nice gardens surrounding the place.

Why do I do it. Again, I should have known better. I've booked without checking a place out. And paid the price. For a few quid more, I could have stayed at a better location. The Winston hotel has potential, but totally needs an investment of time, a little money, and a tonne of common sense. Arrival. Unsure really of...

Last minute booking, a hotel in my eyes is somewhere to rest my head. As it went, I have to admit, the decor was not the finest, but an en suite shower and toilet, TV, kettle, towels, wardrobe, with pleasant staff, and clean surroundings what more can I say, it's a hotel. Didn't eat there, purely because I was at...

We had a Sunday roast in the pub downstairs. The choice is quite limited but original compared to other pubs: roast pork belly, chicken breast. A lot of veggies. We were satisfied. Nice eating out in the garden. The service was efficient.

Not too bad, room was decent size compared to what some other hotels in the area call a room! Staff were welcoming and happy upon arrival but o the morning different staff seemed they didnt care too much. Overall clean and ideal for a night stay which is what was needed!

I booked this hotel last minute due to uncertainty over dates. Wished I'd never bothered! The Winston hotel is disgusting, if you could even call it a hotel when it's actually just some rooms above a pub. No security, anyone could walk in via the bar or back doors left open. From reading the trip advisor reviews beforehand it seemed...
