Stayed for five nights at this excellent hotel. The young staff were friendly, helpful and very professional. Our bedroom at the rear was quiet, light and airy with a most comfortable bed. The breakfast menu had several different dishes, great for a change from the usual, which were all freshly cooked. The hotel is walking distance to the seafront, the...

The location is a 5 minute walk from the seafront and easy to find. Overall the room and public areas were of a high standard. We had room 11 at the rear of the building with its own patio area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. Fruit cereal etc plus a choice of cooked breakfast

Number Four Boutique Hotel is highly recommended. Only a few minutes' walk from the lake, seaside (we loved the Southend Beach Cafe & Rockbys further along the seafront) and lovely Rose Garden. On the no.1 bus route, with another at the top end of the road, but quiet and leisurely feel. There are some good restaurants on the main road...

Excellent little hotel, breakfast superb, staff very helpful thoroughly recommend this hotel. Very convenient for the historical dockyard. No in house dining but many good eating places nearby. Parking a little tight but adequate.

Lovely clean spacious modern accommodation within easy walking distance to the seafront. All fixtures and fittings in the room were stylish and in keeping with the décor. Breakfast was served promptly and was all that you would expect for a traditional English breakfast.

My partner and I had stayed for a night and it was lovely. The staff were very friendly and more than willing to help with any inquiries our diet requirements. The bed was very comfy and their breakfast was delicious. I 100% recommend this place to everyone!

I booked a room in this hotel after looking at various places in Portsmouth including all of the mainstream hotel chains. On arrival myself and my partner were very impressed. Friendly welcome and efficient checking in process. The room was fantastic and couldn't have asked for a cleaner, more spacious and character full room. Shower was powerful and hot. Hotel...

We arrived late as planned. Drinks at the bar, certainly sir. A warm welcome to a beautiful hotel. Don't let the exterior deter the interior is beautifully decorated and furnished. My room was large with everything I needed. Breakfast was as good as it gets with a good choice. Above all, all the staff we encountered we're friendly, welcoming and...

My wife booked this hotel as part of my Christmas present of a trip to the Historic Naval Dockyards. Number 4 is a classic boutique hotel with immaculately presented and clean rooms. The amenities were first class and the staff charming and very helpful. I would love to go back.

At first I thought it was a little too far out, but it's closer to Southsea restaurants and bars than the main Mercer Cluster...in fact as a location for strolling around and finding places to eat and indulge it's ideal. Breakfast is exactly the same as the Mercer Collection around the Florence Road area, so it's like coming home, if...
