Our stay had to be re- arranged due to the weather. The sea crossing was a little choppy but the crew due their best to get you out to the fort in a timely fashion. All the staff looked after us very well. They are a friendly, cheerful, busy team. Food was great, we particularly enjoyed the buffet lunch. Fabulous room, peaceful and relaxing, extremely comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom. The fort retains its historical features which adds to the character of your stay. Kyle hosts an entertaining and educational tour delving into the history of the Fort, with the possibility of meeting their resident ghost thrown in! Views are wonderful. We enjoyed chilling in the hot tub. They weren’t able to light the fire pit due to the wind but the hookie game in the bar literally kept us all entertained for hours! The Fort is a unique experience, run on a generator in the middle of the sea. Therefore it has its quirks and things may not always run perfectly smoothly. Embrace the experience and enjoy 😉

We were booked to stay at Spitbank: arrived at port office to find they had double booked to a private party so instead we were offered No Mans Fort and although very good it wasn’t what we had paid for !!

This is really an amazing experience. The whole visit was well organised and professionally delivered. Often these historical trips have been disneyfied but the fort has kept its unique quality and atmosphere. A bonus was the excellent food and wine and the attention of the staff. Well worth the visit. The only downside is your trip could be cancelled because of adverse weather conditions as it’s a 10 min boat trip from the port to the fort as our first booking was. There was a no fuss rebooking or you could have your money refunded.

What a wonderful and unique place this is, very homely and luxurious, spotlessly clean with excellent food and staff who do their utmost to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. My only negative comment would be that we would have liked to have learned a little more of the history of the fort on our tour which did feel a little rushed, although this in no way detracted from our enjoyment. We only saw 3 staff while we were there, Celine, Chas and the chef but undoubtedly there are more working behind the scenes and I would like to extend our thanks to them also. Highly recommended trip, this should be on everyone’s bucket list.
