The house is at the unfashionable end of Southsea and looking in need of some tlc. The front garden is overgrown and doesn't give a very good first impression. My room was ok, clean and tidy although the mattress had springs protruding from it. In the morning I was informed that my booking was for 'room only' although breakfast was... More

Easy to find, 20-minute walk from the train station. Clean, quiet ensuite room facing the back was roomy enough for two. Cot-style twin beds were firm but comfortable. Bathroom/shower was tight, best suited for slim people. Mina and Tess were welcoming and quick to provide less bulky bedding. Large breakfast room with self-serve coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, fruit. Quick service... More

Definitely a good choice. An old property well appointed, Martin and his wife provide excellent accommodation which includes an excellent cooked or continental breakfast plus free wifi. Who could want for more. My fellow conference attendees stayed with the big hotel chains and their experiences were nothing like as good and the prices were certainly way above what I was... More

The room was in need of renovation, with a bare patch on the ceiling, dirty walls and an extremely uncomfortable, sqeaky bed. Bathroom towels and mats need replacing and there was an empty water bottle and biscuit wrapper under the bed. The shower cubicle was very small and the shower head was not secure as it fell on me. The... More

The place is soo clean and comfortable to stay. Its more than what you see in the photos. Near to everything in portsmouth. And the owners are very hospitable. This hotel is warm and cozy as I had the front bedroom. I loved the soothing green colour scheme and comfy bed. This room has a spacious bathroom, however there was no plug for the bath. It is very handy for public transport and is in a nice, safe area.

Nice little hotel, 6 guest in 3 rooms max. Family run, very kind owners. Place to park in the street, owners get you a daily parking tickets 2 GBP per day. Good English breakfast or cereals, yogurt, fruit, tea and coffee. Small but clean rooms, warm shower, LCD tv, free WiFi. Cattle for tea in the room and a cookie... More

We spent 3 nights at Southsea Lodge, which is nicely located - 20 minutes walk from Gunwharf Quay and an equal distance to the Southsea seafront. We had a warm welcome, which was informative. Our double room was on the first floor, at the rear. It was clean and tidy, but we were disappointed that the furniture and overall decor... More

Lovely family B&B with very friendly and helpfull owners. Room was very spacious and clean, with free WiFi and good (cooked) breakfast. Also great location, very close to pubs and local amenities. Would definitely stay here again.

I had two nights here with a friend over the bank holidyay weekend for Victorious Festival. The B&B was in a good locatoin and we were able to walk easily from Frant train station in around 10 minutes. On a day with good weather, you would be able to have a very nice walk through Southsea down to the seafront... More
