This is without doubt one of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed. Alex and Finny are warm, welcoming and just superb hosts. We would not fault anything - it is spotless, cosy, interesting and just brilliant - well done to both of you - you really do know perfection. We would love a return visit at some time... More

What a wonderful place to stay. We were at a nearby wedding in the Square Tower and wanted somewhere near to stay so we didn't have to worry about drinking and driving. Very warm welcome on arrival. Got a key and parking permit. Had a shower, got changed and went back to wedding. Room was quite delightful, en suite spotless.... More

Stayed here recently rather than drive evening rush hour from Portsmouth to Cambridgeshire. Phoned ahead and booked and when we arrived I must admit I doubted it's legitimacy: cash only, no signs outside indicating that it's a B & B, no room key.... However it was this informality that actually made it such a relaxed and great place to stay.... More

En route to Le Mans Classic. Had the most comfortable of nights in lovely surroundings prior to catching the ferry to Caen. Alex got up at the crack of dawn to make us a magnificent cooked breakfast. Alex is a world class authority on Admiral Lord Nelson by the way. This B&B is highly recommended.

Just back from a one night stay. Cannot fault it. Clean, tidy, comfortable, excellent room, excellent breakfast. Beautiful old house, full of charm. The hosts cannot be faulted either. AND no need to even take your own toiletries!!!!!! We will definitely be going back as soon as possible.

I stayed in Lombard house for a couple of days in the summer. The house is beautiful and excellently maintained, and full of historical items (the most striking of which are the sword collection and the accurate and fully functional replica of Admiral Nelson's uniform) which I personally found intensely interesting. Alex is a wonderful host; he is welcoming, extremely... More

Very charming house, comfortable room and bed. Wonderful host and great English breakfast. The host is an encyclopaedia of history facts and it was a thrill to talk with him. I wish I had had more time. Will certainly be back
