Checked in during a very busy Sunday afternoon service in the Bar however Anthony spelt with an H was on hand to guide us through the checking in and up to our room. We came back to the bar where a table had been prepared for us to have tea and scones most welcome and roaring fire added to the...

I am a walker and sometimes take a different route than planned. So many nice locals kept me on the straight and narrow to the White Hart Inn with glowing recommendations. Jed in the bar got me the right pint. I checked into the wonderful Ramblers rooms which shared a huge, modern, bathroom. I showered and did a bit of...

A pleasure from the moment we walked in, to the moment we left. Lovely food, nothing to much trouble for the excellent staff. The pork was succulent, the vegetables cooked to perfection and there was plenty of it too. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

We had lunch here midweek in November. Initially quiet it became quite busy as lunchtime progressed and there was a good buzz about the place. Set lunch menu made it reasonable value, food quality was good. Service was attentive and quick right until the end when there was a pudding mixup (puddings on the menu weren't available in the kitchen)...

I was extremely pleased with my stay here. The building had lots of character with plenty of olde England charm. Free parking at the rear. The bar area was very pleasant, well presented and the staff were attentive and friendly on my evening arrival. My double room was warm, clean with a comfortable bed and fresh crisp bedding and towels....

Great service and friendly staff but often disappointing quality of food. Have had some great food here but not recently. Decor and atmosphere always good and lovely log fires. May try again. Decor in eating areas needs attention. Allows dogs in eating areas which personally I don't like.

Hi Pam, Thank you for taking the time to review The White Hart. Although I did think it was a little harsh considering we haven't seen you since August. I seem to recall you weren't happy that your freshly baked scone was warm? Yes we do allow dogs, but only in the bar area, where we happen to serve food...

Fourth visit, fourth different room - but all four adequate: comfy, warm and generally clean. Beds are comfortable and linen clean. Prepared for the sharing of a bathroom/shower/toilet in the three rambler rooms - not a problem. Housekeeping helpful and thorough - replenishing tea/coffee/biscuits. TV did not work in Rm 9 initially; required tuning in which was rectified within 10...

The White Hart Inn is on the Winchcombe high street and the start of a 5.5 mile circular walk. We decided to do the walk and then return to the Inn for a late Saturday afternoon lunch. You will need a reservation if you go for a walk because the White Hart Inn is very popular. We made a reservation...

We had booked to stay for 2 nights for our 15th wedding anniversary having had some amazing meals here some years before albeit whilst staying at Sudeley Castle. We arrived at the venue, parked at the rear and went to check in. We were met by a group of what appeared to be local workers standing immediately by the back...

I stayed at the White Hart Inn for one eve during a lovely walking adventure around the Cotswolds. The White Hart Inn is cozy, warm, and a welcoming place. After a long day of walking in the wind and rain, I was able to have a warm place to stay, having dinner by the fire. The staff there are lovely...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Eat, drink and flop in historic Winchcombe. To some it's a pub, others a hotel. Situated at the heart of the village of Winchcombe near Cheltenham, this ‘restaurant with rooms’ (there are 11) offers the very best of British food and an excellent wine list. Visit the wine shop and try the famous sausages in the Wine & Sausage eating rooms. A perfect place to visit or stay if you love walking or visiting Cheltenham races. Each of the 8 en-suite rooms are individually styled and some have feature beds. In the Wine & Sausage eating rooms located on the inns ground floor they are passionate about real food, the great and simple British dishes that we grew up with. Ingredients are carefully sourced and wherever possible use local and regional farmers, growers, fishermen, producers, brewers and even winemakers. Just a few metres away from the inn you will find the scenic Cotswold Way and Gloucestershire Way footpaths. The Inn is also very popular with cyclists and can help with routes around the area, especially via one or two other 'watering holes'. There's even a hosepipe for washing down muddy bikes. Winchcombe is an idyllic base for touring the Cotswolds and the White Hart is the perfect bolt hole close to the famous sporting and cultural festival town of Cheltenham. ... more   less
