Stayed at the Close Hotel whilst visiting the area to do a cycling sportive in nearby Didmarton. From arriving, after a unusually pain free journey on the M4 from London, our first impressions were very good. Tetbury is a lovely historic market down with the hotel in a very good central location. Being able to park in their car park... More

I'm more familiar with the Cotswolds villages to the north of Oxford; but this time we (my wife and I) decided to explore a new area to the south west and based ourselves at the Close Hotel in Tetbury (near to Highgrove and the National Arboretum). This turned out to be an excellent decision as the hotel was excellent -... More

A gracious, meandering, historic Cotswold hotel with delightful walled garden. We stayed one night in June. The hotel is beautifully decorated, with many original, modern art works. Parking at the rear of the hotel was easy. As with all old buildings there are also some drawbacks. We stayed in "Swallow" room - twin beds, overlooking the high street. Positives: Luxuriously... We were fortunate to stay on a Daily Telegraph offer for two nights, at a considerable reduction to normal room rates. This is a first class hotel run with great efficiency. The room was excellent on the top floor overlooking the gardens at the rear of the hotel. The food which we ate in the dining room (there is also... More

This town house hotel in the "Royal" town of Tetbury is officially rated only three stars. However, the prices are five-star. Fortunately so are the surroundings. Beautfully appointed room overlooking well-manicured gardens. And a great bathroom with double shower and a free-standing tub. Even mirrored TV in there. Good breakfast and decent pre-dinner drinks on the terrace. We would certainly... More

I recently stayed here with my wife. The hotel is absolutely delightful! The buildings are incredible, the furnishing are top rated, the staff and service of the highest quality. Added to this, you are based in the middle of Village which means you can stroll easily down the main shopping streets. It is well worth the price for a couple... More

I took my boyfriend to this hotel for his birthday and paid for the wine and food lover package. Everything was perfect from start to finish. They put us up in the Jubilee Room which is on the top floor. The interior is absolutely stunning and the room and bathroom are very big! The weather wasn't so great but was... More

Hotel is situated right in the heart of this beautiful Cotswold village. Only 18 rooms but all different and decorated in a very contemporary style. Lovely gardens at the rear are very quiet and relaxing. Room at the front is onto the Main Street and noisy. Ask for room looking onto the gardens. Food is fabulous. Small menu but great.... More

Great looking building with lovely garden to the rear, nicely decorated interior, great toilets! My friend and I only stopped for a pot of tea and sat to the front of the building. This was served with shortbread, very nice. But there was no friendly welcome from the man and young lady waiting/taking orders and rather than have our order... More

Stayed here for one night as visiting Highgove Gardens which is a 5 min drive away. Everything about the hotel was exceptional-the staff, the service, the room, the comfortable beds, the toiletries and the breakfast. Just wonderful x
