Popped by just for a drink on a nice sunny evening and sat in the beer garden. Decided to grab some food and it was amazing best pie I've ever had. Would highly recommend for anyone just waning a drink or a nice meal. Also can't go wrong with on certain days they do buy one get one half price.

just paid over £100 for four people one starter two desserts four mains ...but disappointed . Starter ok but hummus indistinguishable from anything , pretty average . Mains good for most part - though not a lot of it . Desserts very disappointing - trifle flaccid and not tasty , a bit bland . Cheeseboard extortionate for what it was... More

We had been to the Old Lodge before, in the off-season, and that time it was crammed. So as it was the height of the tourist season we thought it prudent to book.  Which we did on-line; a table for two at 7.  At the appointed time we arrived and were shown to a table in a side room by... More

The chips were pale, and weirdly starchy - when asked, they were apparently 'double blanched' - really disappointing and not crisp. A decent salad had no dressing and when it was brought - it was green tasteless water - no oil or vinegar discernible. Good chips and dressing are not difficult, even when there's a wedding party going on. The... More

We stumbled upon this pub whilst sightseeing, the location is stunning, the staff are excellent as is the food. Great choice of adults and children's meals. Rooms are also available and a golf course is located next door. We will visit again.

Had a very nice stay stay, the location is beautiful, the service was great, very friendly staff (good beer), lovely food and a good choice. The room was very comfy and clean (all be it a little small). Breakfast was very nice as well. The B&B rate was very reasonable.

Well here we go with my review, (sorry it's late we stayed on Friday the the 8th of July) my party of 4 adults stayed at the Old Lodge checking in with ease on the Friday evening. Brilliant first impression, lovely place in the middle of Michinhamton Common, Stroud. We were met by Mike (a friendly Irish man) and the... More
