I have visited The Porch House as a pub / restaurant for years! To say I like the place would be an understatement, but having just returned from our first stay there, we were sadly left disappointed by our £145 per night room. The room itself was tiny! Simple things you expect from a hotel of any standard were missing. Nowhere to hang coats, nowhere to dry wet towels, nowhere to park, no biscuits or any additional touches in the room to make this place stand out as a luxury or special hotel. The room itself was also seemingly poorly insulated from outside noises, as was evident when on our second night the room underneath ours decided to have a post-10pm curfew party in their room! I know this wasn’t the fault of the hotel, but we could hear every word of their conversation

Definitely the best best pub/ restaurant in Stow with excellent food and helpful, cheerful service in a delightful yesteryear atmosphere. Dogs (presumably well behaved) are very welcome as well. What could be better.

For the cost it was very disappointing the whole place felt like it needed a really good clean. Our room for £135 a night! was the pokiest hovel we have ever stayed in definitely should not have charged this fee, I realise it is an old building but cost should reflect the size of your room, throughout the Cotswold area we never paid this much for far better accommodation .....

Booked a 3 night stay here on what should have been our honeymoon. Whilst the room was lovely there was no housekeeping, however no reduction on rate to reflect this. The main issue was food..... we booked a table for the Sunday evening, and when showed to our table we were informed that they had run out of Pork & Chicken.... ok so we decided to order Beef... run out. The menu is ridiculously small and there was next to nothing to choose from. The waiter then brought us another menu...ok fish & chips please ( as this was on the 2nd menu) ...the chef refused to prepare this. When we queried the lack of choice and small menu COVID was blamed ..... lame excuse. We have been asked for feedback, we have given this but no one has bothered to reply. Cannot complain about

We celebrated a 40 year anniversary here with a two night stay , and loved the place. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly from the cleaning staff , bar staff and everyone else concerned. The breakfast and dinners were amazing , we felt safe and protected all through our stay . The history of the hotel was awe inspiring and we couldn’t help but be amazed with the stories we were told about this amazing building. Will definitely stay here again , in fact I can’t wait until we can go back . Alan and Sue Johnson. Staffs
