My husband had booked this stay as a surprise for my birthday. From the moment we turned into the drive, I was blown away. The staff from beginning to the end of our stay were delightful. We were really pleased with the service from Jonathon and Connor. The food was extremely tasty and well cooked. Presentation was spot on. We had a bridal suite with a massive bed. I had to send a search party out to find my husband LOL. Elemis complementary bathroom smellies too. The building is beautiful. Lot's of lovely woodwork, though a little tired in places. Absolutely loved the staircase. We did hear that the Hotel is coming under new management at the end of March. We really hope that the hotel still has the same feel, when we hopefully visit again. Nice garden to walk around and being in the country try, no light pollution either, so we were able to see the stars clearly. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in March for our wedding anniversary. I have to say I was a bit anxious following a number of reviews on here but we had a truly lovely time! The hotel is very traditional with beautiful period features and decor. Some of the window frames and paintwork etc could perhaps do with some maintenance/repainting but I can't say I would even have noticed if it wasn't for some of the previous reviews and it didn't affect our trip one bit! It's been a particularly difficult couple of years for the industry so I can see why maintenance work perhaps hasn't been done yet but as I say it didn't affect our experience. We stayed in the main house in a lovely large room with a separate seating area. There were robes and slippers provided, nice towels, all very clean and well kept. Jacuzzi bath was lush! All the staff were brilliant - the reception team was great, helpful, friendly, professional and dealt with all the usual room requests perfectly e.g. sending up water, toothpaste which we had forgotten, extra coffee, non diary milk etc. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and the food was superb! I understand that there is a new chef team that has recently started and wow what a lovely surprise. Both nights we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The waiting staff were also great, friendly, attentive, professional. Absolutely no complaints. This is our second stay at the hotel and we will definitely be back again!

I can't give Wyke Hill House a rating because we didn't even make it.I booked for a relaxing evening for my wife's birthday via Secret Escapes to include evening dinner so we didn't have to go out scouting around for a meal. They have today notified me that they are no longer doing evening meals but we can still stay on Bed and Breakfast basis. However the deal with Secret Escapes included £35 per head meal allowance and a half bottle of champagne, the reduction allowance offered by Wyke Hill House was £50, how do you make that equate. I have had to put March as when we travelled to satisfy the requirement when we should have been travelling on the 7th of April I have also had to put a 1 star rating as it would not accept 0

We booked for a Saturday night via Secret Escapes. On arrival we were shown our room which was in the newer part of the property. It was a large room but very dark and smelt of smoke. The bar area was in darkness and the beautiful open fires not lit, which was a shame as it was really cold outside. No atmosphere at all. Restaurant closed so had to venture out to eat. I know the hospitality industry is struggling and not as busy as it would normally be but the hotel could have made more of an effort to make it welcoming. Breakfast was average and we had to wait 15mins before anyone noticed we were there. Beautiful house but felt cold and unwelcome Disappointed

Having stayed at the hotel in December our experience was so positive, that we have now rebooked for February. I would like to give a special mention to Jonathan who's customer service service was outstanding. Jonathan is has the ability to be friendly and hold a professional manner. His welcoming and kind approach has without doubt encouraged us for another visit. Food was of a high standard and all other staff were truly accomadating, friendly and set a lovley ambiance thanks to everyone and would highly recommend

Friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to help, excellent breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms and easy check in process. All of this with good COVID control measures in place. The bar area was cosy but big enough for the 16 of us in our group to chill out in the evenings, entertained by the incredibly helpful Matt. We chose this place for a family birthday celebration - aged 6mths to 70yrs, on the back of TA reviews. Couldn’t find fault - and we’re a tough crowd!!

We have been staying at Wyck Hill House for over 25 years at least twice a year. We recently stayed again and had a lot of problems there. It is not the same as it used to be, and we have tried to support them through the pandemic too, but the management could not care less now about rectifying various issues we had on this stay and do not care about loyal guests any longer. We will not return and will find somewhere else in future when we go to the Cotswolds who do care about their guests, more than they care about themselves.

The hotel is cared and loved for by the wonderful staff and is in a great location to visit the many local villages and attractions. Our room was large well appointed with a classic on suite immaculately looked after. The restaurant was laid out within the existing Covid-19 rules Compliments to the Chef and his staff, we enjoyed our 3 course dinners with a good choice of wines. Table service for dinner and breakfast were of a high standard. We experienced several minor issues all which were dealt with quickly.

We had a twin room on the ground floor (106), it was stuffy, the shower was broken and there is a generator on the outside wall which came on every hour and was very noisy. The next morning when we found no hot water in the shower, we asked for a different room to shower in which was not possible. Breakfast was very poor too, lots of uncleared tables and uninspiring buffet. Thankfully we had a nice dinner the night before. Whole hotel needs a makeover.

This is supposed to be a four star hotel. On the day of arrival, I could not get wifi or a signal on my mobile phone. I complained to reception and they said the wifi would be 're-booted'. The following day there was still no wifi. I complained again and was told someone would come to my room to re-boot the system ? Nothing happened and after complaining a third time, was informed that they were going to invest in a new system at some point but for the time being there was no wifi available in my room. When I checked in on day one, I asked about dinner in the restaurant and was told it was fully booked for the duration of my stay (3 days). A four star hotel should be able to offer food to a guest, regardless of advance booking. There is nothing on the web site to inform you of this. In fact, the website boasts about its restaurant and states it offers breakfast, lunches and dinner. As the hotel is outside Stow on the Wold, this meant driving each evening to dine out in a local pub or restaurant. After day 2, I decided to check out one day early and spoke to a manager who agreed to refund one day of the three day break. When I checked out the following morning, the receptionist informed me it would take up to 28 days for the refund to reach my account. After chasing the refund a couple of times, it eventually did reach my account a full 28 days later. Why it should take 28 days to issue a refund is beyond me. Altogether, I would not recommend this hotel. It used to be a lovely place to stay but the standards have slipped significantly.
