Absolutely lovely afternoon would highly recommend. An experience not just lunch. A visit to the cocktail bar, relaxing lounges, sun terrace and gardens are all a must. Already planning a birthday treat for a friend.

Wow, I was absolutely blown away by the Painswick. The property is lovely. So many great places to sit and enjoy the beautiful house and lots of patio space for the (sometimes rare) nice days. Great views of the surrounding area. Rooms are very cozy and comfortable. Really great bathrooms. Parking on site very convenient as well. The food menu... More

Where do I begin ... Got to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in . Stunning building nestled in a picturesque village with stunning views . No expense spared on the recent refurbishment but what stands out, more than any hotel I have visited, is the outstanding customer service from the staff and Manager, Luke. Ferenc,... More

Our last stopping point on this year's walking of the Cotswold Way, the Painswick provided a luxurious finish. Although officially a 3 star hotel, it would put many 5 star establishments in the shade. A historic building, some parts dating from 17th century, refurbished to the highest standards of modern interior design, last year, both the bedrooms and public rooms... More

What a good decision to eat here! The most delicious dinner in this picturesque hotel was made perfect by the delightful service. Attention to dietary requirements was not a problem, all suggestions were thought through and our dinner was beautifully balanced. The raspberry soufflé with raspberry ripple ice cream is a piece de resistance and not to be missed.

Tucked down a lane ice hotel and restaurant. Log fire in cosy reception room. Good food and drinks menus served by friendly attentive staff. Prices reflect the quality. Bar and toilets are upstairs (no lift)

We stayed here for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary and couldn't have been more impressed. The room was stunning and we loved the card and champagne left to congratulate us. The food was out of this world as was the wine. The staff we very attentive and we even had bespoke cocktails made for us. We had a massage... More

Recently taken over by the Cotswold Inns Group, we thought we would give it a try. Nestled at the back of this quaint village, not built for motor vehicles, you have to be careful driving there. The car park is adequate and on arriving at the door we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown upstairs into a spacious... More

Friendly and professional booking and greeting on arrival. Cotswold Gin and Fevertree tonic on the terrace before dinner. Dinner menu with starters and main courses which all appealed and were good value. We chose charcuterie starter and then duck and trout. Interesting selection of quality house wines. Comfortable room with Nespresso coffee and chefs treats. Marketing of hotel promised a... More

I hope that with Brexit, for which I voted, that the European staff still feel that they are welcome to work in the UK. I didn't meet anyone British working in the hotel in this very English of villages, which is a bit sad (are we too lazy to work in a service industry?) However, all the staff I encountered... More
