The Falcon Inn is historic and with that comes the quirkiness of uneven floors, no lift but lots of character. There is a friendly welcome & they even found us a table on a busy Saturday; so glad as the food was very good. There is parking at the rear, our room was in the eaves (no 4), it had... More

Our English friends had booked 2 rooms at the Falcon 13 months before we were due to visit and received confirmation of this. However, 6 weeks beforehand a call was made to confirm our arrival only to be told by the proprietor that he had subsequently booked a wedding party and so had 'bumped' us. He informed our enquirer that... More

Having asked for more information to clarify the situation further, the guest was non committal, however they did mention that the enquire was made by a 3rd party agent, I would suggest that maybe the agent was unable to make a reservation due to a wedding taking place, and therefore blamed the hotel for the error. I have checked our... More

It's a curate's egg of a hotel.. On the credit side the building is beautiful in that unmistakeable Farrow and Ball Cotswold de nouveau style; the people could not be more friendly and helpful (and I would single out for special praise our Spanish waitress, the proprietor himself and the lady who checked us in) and the rooms were perfect... This hotel is quiet situated in the Cotswolds hills. This nice old village is not spoiled by the tourists and has beautiful old houses (14-17th century); the hotel itselfs dates back to 1554. The staff is very friendly and provided us with a lot of information about the area. The food was excellent as well as the beautiful rooms. The... More

Nice staff but very thinly stretched for a busy pub/restaurant. Good spot, decor and atmosphere, few too many kids but that's not their fault! Car park is woefully small, don't bother, park 100 yards away in the public car park. Food: Took a while to come but had Scampi for starter, which was both good and bloody awful in equal... More

May partner and I and our baby daughter dined for lunch and the place only had 1 other table being served at the time and one reservation coming in. Our toddler didn't get a highchair because they only have one and the reserved table coming in 30-40 mins after we arrived had it set up at their table. We waiting... More

Never would stay here again, room filthy, so so dusty and damp musty smelling. Even our drinks glasses were dusty. Window broken so wouldn't close, bathroom light broken so had to use bedroom light when in bathroom and have door open. Bedding and pillows smelt like a chip shop. Worst nights sleep ever! Cobwebs all over walls, dirt on tiles... More

We've been a few times now as a couple and in larger groups, but every time one of us has had over cooked food ie Steak and fish twice. The service is generally good, but sometimes poor.Whilst we have had niggles each time, most of the food has been good. The pastry on the salted caramel tart was so thick and hard... The Falcon was first opened as a coaching inn in the 16th century and carries out the aims of the coaching inn to this day, the transport to it is just a little bit different.
