Welcome to The Bull, a Grade II-listed coaching inn, gloriously situated on the Market Square in Fairford, a picture-perfect market town in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds. The Bull now offers both restaurant and private dining spaces and a traditional pub bar, with open fires, and serving local craft beers, spirits and great wines. There’s also a traditional, vaulted barn, The Bull Room, for weddings and parties for up to 50 guests. BAFTA nominated set designer, Corina Burrough and interior designer Jo Titchener, worked to create The Bull’s beautifully refurbished interiors throughout, including its 21 individually furnished, en-suite bedrooms. The Bull also has private fishing rights to a 1.25-mile stretch of the River Coln with excellent fishing for grayling and trout, making it a popular base for fly-fishing trips. Rods cost from £50pp a day for up to five people.

The Bull Hotel captivates many guests with its charming and inviting atmosphere, and its location is widely celebrated for being both central and scenic. While the majority of reviewers appreciate the hotel's clean and comfortable rooms, some do highlight concerns regarding upkeep and noise. The amenities, including the quality of food and baths, generally receive commendations, though a few guests noted room for improvement.
The service stands out as helpful and polite; however, experiences with customer service can vary. While some guests feel the hotel offers good value, others consider it somewhat overpriced.

Lovely little town and pleasant staff. Water, tea and biscuits were replenished each day. Large free standing bath which was lovely too. Would not recommend staying here if you are a light sleeper. We had room 14 which is at the front so you could hear all the road noise and customers from the bar outside. I would not want to stay here over a weekend as the noise went on after 10pm and the smoke from people smoking outside came into the rooms. Lorry noise from early morning deliveries started from 8am so if you want a lay in- no chance. Windows needed a clean- so many cobwebs and dirt when you tried to open windows your hands got filthy. Toiletries are not as advertised and looked extremely cheap I wouldn’t want to use them. Breakfast was offered for £15pp (quite steep) but no menu supplied. What if I just wanted toast? Would be good to have a selection of menus in the room to entice stayers into the restaurant. Overall- would stay again only if I had a back room for 1 night midweek.

I recently stayed at The Bull Hotel for 3 nights with my wife, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We had both breakfast and dinner during our stay, and the food was consistently excellent.
Our room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and plenty of space to relax. The hotel is located in a beautiful part of the country, and the charming, cosy venue full of character added to the overall experience. It was also great value for money, and we would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in a picturesque setting.

Overpriced hotel! I booked a Junior Suite thinking it would be a special treat in a sleepy Cotswolds village! What the hotel fail mention is that they charge a Junior Suite price next to a main road with single glazing and you hear continuous traffic from the early hours… so don’t go for a ‘restful night’ as they advertise! I live in London and it’s much quieter!!! The bathroom is tiny! To charge this out as a junior suite is ripping people off! So if they offer you Room 4 avoid!
I asked to be downgraded to a smaller room or moved to another suite away from the room and was told No!!! As people were checking in that day, common sense would tell you to move us early morning and upgrade someone for free, so I got two nights bad sleep! When I challenged the reception that I shouldn’t be charged full price for that they said they would get the manager to call, suprise no one did and they just charge the card anyway with no apologies or anything!! I would look elsewhere this is over priced shame as it’s in a beautiful part of the world and they could do so much more with it!
Breakfast was average also, and avoid the avocado smash it was anaemic!
Really disappointed that management don’t show any interest in customer service!

Fantastic roast, incredible staff! We had a slap up roast lunch for 40 friends and family at The Bull following our son’s christening. lt was a triumph! We were able to use the beautiful private function room, which was all set up with name places, table cloths, sound system etc. The staff could not have been more helpful, both in the planning before hand and on the day. As for the food - absolutely exquisite! All our guests commented afterwards how delicious the roast was, from the succulent medium rare beef, to the beautifully cooked sides, and a special mention for the excellent gravy which came alongside in plentiful jugs without us even having to ask. All in all, a truly brilliant experience - can’t recommend The Bull more highly!

Thankyou to all the staff at the Bull Hotel for making our stay a happy one. I chose this hotel from a review comment on trip advisor which said "the best hotel in the Cotswolds" after another quality hotel nearby being fully booked, I'm so glad I did. This attractive old village hotel was beautifully decorated, we had a lovely spacious room, no1, a quality bed and bedding, soft comfortable pillows from ikea, which we will be buying now, a fabulous hot powerful shower, quality soaps, excellent evening meals and great breakfast, stunning riverside walks, I would return here in a heartbeat, I found nothing of importance that I would complain about, some might, it's a well frequented hotel so reality means i'd expect a bit of chipped paint, bit of dust on a skirting board, or a small stain on a carpet, none of which should really bother most people. Fairford is a lovely quieter village with a couple of shops and 3 other pubs, i would fully recommend staying at this hotel if you want to explore the other extremely busy villages/towns of the Cotswolds.

This hotel is the absolute worst we have stayed in. we would never recommend it and certainly never return for a second visit. Years ago, It used to be a decent and good hotel - but sadly no more. Its in a terrible, dirty state, in desperate need of some TLC and good housekeeping staff to clean the rooms to a better standard. There were multiple cobwebs hanging from the beams and ceiling in the room, a stained carpet, an absolutely disgusting plug hole (under the plug fitting) was totally gross. the room was cramped and tiny. We stayed there on one of the coldest nights (-2 outside) and we were given an electric fan heater as the heating in the room was not working at bedtime. The bathroom heated towel rail did not work at all and we were told when we reported it that they could not find anyone to repair it! Handles on the wardrobe were loose and hanging off. Layers of dust could be seen on the light shades on the bedroom "chandalier" plus several light bulbs were not working All of which is basic. If we had anywhere else we could have stayed we would certainly have gone left.

The Bull Hotel is an excellent place to stay. We arrived early but the staff were so nice and told us to the beer garden at the rear of the property and we enjoyed a few drinks until our rooms were ready. Our room was excellent, clean, spacious, had tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water, a fan, tv. We could not fault anything. We booked an evening meal at the hotel. The table was perfect, near the window, spaced out so we felt that we were not too near other diners. Meal was excellent, cooked perfectly and not over priced. In the morning we were offered a full English breakfast with a wide choice of menu. Included porridge, fruit, avocado with eggs, salmon and of course the standrad English. Again we could not fault this. The staff at the hotel in all areas were so polite and helpful. We would definitely recommend and hopefully return one day. Five stars - Excellent.

We were allocated room 2 on the front of the hotel, and we were told that a market would be setting up from 5am on the Wednesday morning!! ( What! That was NOT mentioned when we booked ) worried about the noise as soon as we entered our room, we asked if we could be moved and told NO! Apparently they were full!?
On the Tuesday morning we were woken at 5.30am with the refuge collection. At 5 am on a Wednesday the market sets up! Thursday 6am a Delivery Friday 6.30 Grass cutting / leaf blowing We heard every car, motorcycle, conversation from outside our window. Having booked this break without our children we were really hoping for a nice relaxed time. Something we certainly did not get! When we were asked by Tracey ( The Receptionist ) about the noise we said it was terrible. The response we got was “ you could go to the chemist for ear plugs or if you drink, have a few extra!!!” Really not very professional or helpful! If they are not going to do anything about the noise they really need to bring it to people’s attention before they book. I would never stay here again!

There we some fishermen on the river Coln which can be accessed from across the road from the Bull. The river is a beautiful walk with amazing wildlife.
There are more places to choose from in the Fairford area.
