Visited the pub with family. Food was appaulling 1 out of six ate our meal. Left hungry. Staff very sarcastic . Has put me off eating out without thoroughly researching before hand. First time visiting Cirencester , would not return . Even the locals are unfriendly

Whilst visiting Cirencester we popped in to The Black Horse for a bite of lunch. The place was warm and welcoming there was plenty of seating and quite a few people enjoying the place. A mixture of tourists and locals. The menu was varied with symbols to indicate vegetarian, vegan and the strength of the spicy foods. The staff were... More

We had a family reunion at The Black Horse, Castle Street in Cirencester. Our family came from Australia, South Africa, Scotland, Somerset and Essex, several had not met for many years. Despite it being a very busy Saturday evening Mandy and her team could not have done any more to make our evening a success. The food was well presented,... More

We called in for lunch whilst on a coach trip to the area. Short of time, so this was the first place we saw. The menu was the normal fare, nothing exciting. I chose to have the 3 small dishes for £10, as I rarely eat bread, or a big meal, so ideal I thought, as I could just pick... More

My wife and were visiting Cirencester for a week's break last week. We found a very warm welcome at the Black Horse when we were looking for some where to eat. Staff were excellent and the food was very good. The "two for one" menu had a good choice and the meals would have been good value if bought singularly.We... More

Partner and I arrived without reservation - no worries there! Welcomed us and our dog without hesitation. Descent pub food with good friendly service on a busy Friday evening. Would not hesitate to recommend.

I ordered the hunters chicken plus extra side salad, my husband had fish and chips. Both meals were lovely (except for the lettuce which looked quite tired). We then had to wait for ages and ages for the pudding, apple pie and custard, we asked 3 times - where is it? to be told that it was on its way.... More

Stopped here one night for a meal and was not disappointed. The menu gave a good selection and the prices were reasonable A decent place to stop if you are hungry and looking for somewhere to eat. Would visit again.
