We stayed for 2 nights in the cambray suite. It was brilliant. Complimentary soft drinks and water in fridge. Lovely outlook to the promenade. Only slight downside was no bedside drawers. Not a game changer. On chec²kin and check out receptionist were absolutely lovely a real assest. Had breakfast and dinner food excellent quality again staff brilliant...but then all hotel staff are great real assest. Hotel itself well maintained best hotel we have stayed in, and we have stayed in some nice hotels including the Ritz in london. Definitely 5 stars dont change a thing

Hotel's Favorite
This beautiful, newly independent boutique Regency hotel, set free from the shackles of a hotel chain, stands proudly at the head of Cheltenham’s Promenade in the Montpellier quarter. Our stay was outstanding in every way. From the initial contact (book direct!) to the final goodbye, we were treated as honoured guests. Ok, it was our 50th wedding anniversary, but they pulled out all the stops. We felt loved and cared for by the dedicated and appropriately attentive team. Upgraded to the Imperial Suite (it’s lovely!) with its impeccable bathroom and elegant furnishings, we arrived to rose petals on the bed in a heart shape, and a complimentary pot of the Queens own honey from their hives way up on the roof. In just four days we fell in love with Queens. “With our new freedom as a tiny independent group of three hotels, in Windsor, Bath and here, we can be ourselves and care for our guests like a family,” was the comment of bar manager Greg. And they do. The best sort of care is uncalled-for kindness, and whether that was Matt the restaurant manager out in the pretty little garden, or lovely Hanna looking after Reception - described as ‘awesome’ by another of the team - the Queen’s has it in spades. No ‘posh club’ atmosphere here (though there was a Rolls in the car park!), just a diamond of a hotel, an ace in the pack. Will we recommend it to our friends? Er, yes. Unequivocally. Everything works. We lay in our Kingsized bed this morning and told each other that this hotel is the perfect candidate for an annual must-do weekend away. Perfect? No, of course not. No hotel is. Perfect for us? Another yes. It’s run by committed people and has a sense of refined excellence. The Queens team seems to set about making sure every guest is dealt a winning hand. We’ve loved our stay here.

Excellent hotel in a terrific location, with superb accommodation, friendly and efficient staff and great food. Our room was extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. The bathroom had a huge walk in shower and lovely toiletries. Breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of food. Highly recommended.

Myself and friends stayed overnight in 3 separate rooms. From the start Anna on reception made us feel so welcome and offered us great tips for our stay to enjoy Cheltenham to the max. The rooms were very spacious and the beds really comfortable so we slept soundly. Breakfast was included and there was great variety to choose from. The hotel itself was clean and well presented, it gave off an air of history and charm. All in the party felt we would return and stay again.

Queens is well- located, its staff are very pleasant, & it is averagely priced among the central hotels. But: overnight parking is open air & expensive at £15 & adds c 10% to the cost of a stay; my room was a decent size if a bit dated& was cold & noisy (only single glazing throughout) & the bathroom was tiny with no bath - unacceptable for a junior suite! Breakfast is included but is disappointing: a basic buffet plus hot to order which looked & tasted like it had been cooked a week ago - tough & cold. The free drink at the bar (from booking direct with the hotel) is a nice touch but my G&T was mainly ice & water! There are better options elsewhere in town; eg #131 (opposite) is MUCH BETTER if more expensive.

We have just enjoyed a 2 nt Gourmet Break at Queens where everything was faultless . Reception staff are efficient, friendly and smiley. We booked a Deluxe city view room which was lovely. Spacious, very clean, very comfortable bed and pillows . The included soft drinks minibar was a nice touch and we loved having Fresh Milk in the fridge. Housekeeping was to a very good standard. My only small criticism was the very small bathroom with not enough storage space or hooks for towels. The range and quality of toiletries was impressive though.. The Restaurant was Excellent. Very good quality food cooked and presented beautifully. Excellent Chefs and gracious, attentive, well trained staff where nothing was too much trouble. The Maitre du/Restaurant Manager was outstanding, totally customer focused, so pleasant and his attention to detail and experience was impressive. We had such an enjoyable evening dining experience . Breakfasts too were very good , with cooked to order hot food, and again attentive staff. We would highly recommend this hotel . Location is perfect , just opposite Imperial Gardens and a few minutes walk from Montpellier Gardens and just a few minutes walk from the shops. We have a small dog who we like to take on trips and this hotel welcomes well behaved dogs in some bedrooms. A lovely 2 night Break and we hope to return in the future.

A huge thanks to all the staff at the Queens Hotel for making our event experience so great. From the first initial site visit to the event delivery on the night, the event staff were amazing and made the whole process easy and stress free. The venue itself is brilliant for corporate events and the team were so accommodating in making sure every final detail was perfect. We will definitely be returning and recommending to other people.

The hotel has a grand price and a grand pretence but it doesn’t quite match up with the rooms service. I got there early and went to the bar to do some work but no service was apparent and it took 45 minutes before I could even get a cup of tea. Check in was also understaffed and took too long. My room was small but comfortable although the air-con didn’t work. There was nothing special about the bathroom either. When you add parking at £15 and breakfast at £17.50, you are paying well over the odds for a hotel that is just not worth the best part of £200 a night. Disappointing.

Nice hotel - tiny room though, with absolutely no storage space for any of your things. No drawers or shelves, tiny closet for hanging your coat, no space in the bathroom for toiletries. Staying here means living out of your suitcase, and unless you are very tall, not being to reach or hang your towels. Clean, fine, just not at all comfortable for a stay of two or more nights.

We had a fantastic 2 nights stay at the Queens Hotel. We had stayed there before a long time ago & we wanted somewhere special to celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary & thought of Cheltenham & then of Queens. Everyone made our stay just perfect & we loved how our bed had been decorated to celebrate our 40 years with the added touch of a bottle of wine made it so special. The welcome drink was also a lovely touch & the helpful gentleman behind the bar guided us to some different gins which we hadn’t tried before. Our room was very well appointed & comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfasts, particularly the avocado on toast-to die for! All the restaurant staff under Ben’s management were spot on with their service. We will be back!
