Clean: check. Comfortable room with ensuite: check. Stylish: check. Good location: check. Nice breakfast: check. We booked our stay on Laterooms.com on the advice of the Bakewell Tourist Information Centre. While in Mayfield at 10:30 p.m. on the evening of July 5, we noticed that Beaumont House had two rooms available. We booked one of those rooms using the website... More

My husband and I had a two night mid-week break. Really nice Hotel with lovely friendly staff and a really good breakfast . Our room was an Attic room which was clean and comfortable, but quite warm. A fan was provided, which we used, but we had to keep the windows open all night as well, as no air-con, but it... More

We stay here whenever down south visiting relatives. It's a delightful hotel, always spotlessly clean and combining elegance with character. The breakfasts are very good, too, with carefully sourced ingredients. I look forward to our next visit!

This was our 3rd stay in this B&B.Its cute little hotel ,clean and cosy but it last 2 times it become VERY noisy. Windows and doors are making horrible sounds during all night as they are not fitting right. With even tiniest wind or air current you have feeling someone is nocking on the door.

Just recently returned from a 2 night stay at Beaumont house, the B&B is perfect location for the town and is a 15 minute walk to bars and restaurants. The room was spacious and clean. There is no air con in the room but a portable system that you can request. All in all a very good stay! Would recommend!

We have just returned from another great stay at Beaumont House. It never disappoints. It feels like staying with old friends rather than a B&B - looking forward to another visit next year. We would not consider staying anywhere else when we are in Cheltenham. Thanks to all the staff.

We were greeted on arrival as if we had been expected to arrive at that very moment, with courtesy and a smile. Our bags were unostentatiously whisked away to our room. The guided tour of the facilities was thorough, but very pleasant. Our bedroom and the en-suite bathroom, 'Out of Asia', was beautifully decorated in oriental style and contained all... More

I booked the Beaumont house hotel for a birthday present for my partner he had a flying lesson near by in Gloucestershire. I could not have been more happy with my choice! Service was excellent from minute we arrived. They asked if we would like any suggestions for dinning out, booked our cab for us and we could come and... More

My husband booked this for the first night of our very special anniversary weekend. It is beautiful and up with any five star hotel. It is a credit to the owners hard work and commitment and we will definitely return. Thank you so much for making the start of this special weekend so lovely.

Beaumont House is 16 bedroom 5 star award winning guesthouse with off-street parking. It was the home of the Read family in the 1880's. On the 27th October 1884 Anketell Moutray Read was born in Beaumont House, the youngest son of Colonel John Moutray Read. He was 30 years old, and a Captain in the 1st Battalion, The Northamptonshire Regiment, British Army during the First World War when the following deed took place for which he was awarded the Victoria Cross. This is the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Beaumont House was later owned by the Tilley family, who ran a large muffin bakery in the town. The tiled floor in the reception area was restored in the 1980's, after the recovering discarded tiles from the same period when an adjacent house was being renovated.
