We always go somewhere away from home for New Years Eve because, in the village where we live, nothing much happens at all for NYE! This time we decided to stay in the UK and plumped for the pretty Cotswolds and The Old Manse Hotel, Bourton on the Water which is part of the Olde English Inns group. Our double...

This is our fifth Christmas at the Manse and it never disappoints. It is a lovely oldy wordly hotel, very quaint with lots of character and in a beautiful location. All the staff are wonderful and are so helpful and friendly and can´t do enough for you. The room is lovely and clean and we have a view overlooking the...

This hotel is a lovely building and was probably quite grand once upon a time. It is now a little shabby. The bedroom was small but ok. However the bathroom was so small the shower door couldn't be opened all the way as the sink was in the way. Now this was fine for me but not my six foot...

Called in on Boxing Day after having a walk round. Bitterly cold day so wanted a warming drink and a snack. Had a lovely glass of mulled wine and a bowl of tacos. Excellent and very reasonably priced.

very relaxing place to stay in a wonderful village, staff were helpful and friendly and the room although we paid for a superior room was good if not overwhelming. The rooms look a little tired, but were comfortable. The food served was ok, and the open firepalce with a blazing fire on a cold night was most welcome. Breakfast was...

This is not a hotel in the true sense, more an Inn. It has a pub atmosphere. Great location, right on the water front. Staff are friendly. Venue needs some TLC and a good clean would make it more welcoming. Food was good. Village is wonderful. Very Cotswold with great places to visit. Very picturesque and nice for the weekend...

Three different menus to look at - too much choice. My husband's game burger he said was disappointing. My game pie was ok, nothing to write home about. Mash was not proper mash made with fresh potatoes - it had that powdered taste. The service was good and they had New Zealand SB to drink so I was happy. We...

Thank you for your comments. We do offer quite a range of different style dishes to suite all tastes. If I remember correctly, at first, only sandwiches were required and you ended up trying a different range of new items from the menus.

We spent one night here for my friends 50th birthday, it is located right next to the stream and central to all the coffee shops, cafes, shops and restaurants. Everything is within walking distance so perfect. After our meal in the Italian we returned to the Manse where we say next to an open fire. Very cosy indeed and very...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Old Manse is a delightful English country inn overlooking the river Windrush, which flows gently through the centre of this picture-postcard Cotswold village. You can enjoy exploring this historic area of outstanding natural beauty with a stroll around the quaint little village of Bourton or simply curl up in front of a roaring log fire. Our rooms are all en-suite, where their size and layout do reflect the historic nature of our building, great for short stays and as a base to explore this beautiful location. Some of our rooms are located in the Old Manse Cottage, a short distance from the main building, but equally full of quirky features. A great selection of food and drink is available from our restaurant and bar. Guests should be aware that our car park is limited, however our team are always willing to assist guests with luggage and finding local alternate parking facilities. ... more   less
