Nice hotel ...good staff..poorly cleaned and maintained. Everywhere is just grubby and slightly worn out and it looks like it hardly gets any attention between guests. On that basis I wouldn't stay again

My wife and I recently stayed at Milsoms Hotel to celebrate my birthday. We also had dinner at La Talbooth (see separate review) Upon arrival the hotel seemed pleasant enough with well manicured lawns and flower beds. We checked in and was taken up to our room (room 3) We were quite underwhelmed and had hoped for something special considering... More

We had a lovely overnight stay at Milsom's whilst attending a wedding at Le Talbooth. The bed was very comfortablle, there were lovely toiletries in the bathroom and a good powerful shower. There were complimentary soft drinks in the mini bar and fresh milk. When we returned that evening there were fresh double chocolate cookies tied to the door handle... More

Had a meal in the Library and it was excellent. Good food, well presented, efficient staff and beautiful surroundings - for the price I wouldn't expect anything less. Personally, I would like to see more local fayre. Icelandic Cod!What's that? How do you keep cod from swimming out of Icelandic territorial waters and into international seas?

Good job we weren't filming Four In A Bed, nearly everything was covered in dust !! , needs a good spring clean. We also had dinner and the food was very good, however paper... More

We visited MIlsoms for an early Sunday supper on the Bank Holiday weekend and although it was busy it was not packed. We are regulars and love it here even though it's a bit off a lottery because you cannot book. The food was superb, in particular my main course of pan-fried was delicious, as was my husbands thick cut... More

Came here for lunch midweek, service a little chaotic and food above average but not really that memorable. Would return but not the best in the area. Prices little steep for what you get - would prefer somewhere cheaper and more refined.
