We were welcomed by the owners on arrival and given the key to our room which was clean and comfortable. Tea, coffee, etc. were plentiful and water was left for us each day. Breakfast was served (rather than buffet style) with the usual choices of fruit juices, cereals and hot food. Your choice of hot food was cooked to order... More

I have stayed in the Avondale several times over the last few years and always find it a very pleasant, efficiently run establishment. The proprietors go to great lengths to ensure that the customers are made comfortable and relaxed.

We stayed at the Avondale 27th May for two nights, we wanted to walk the Seven Sisters National Park, and the location of The Avondale was perfect for this. We had a nice room and were checked in with minimal fuss on the Friday evening. Saturday after a lovely breakfast we set off for our walk and I highly recommend... More

Stayed the night before the Brighton Marathon. Room size was good for one night, and luckily we had one of the shared bathrooms right next door and the walls were thick enough that you didn't hear anything. Unfortunately breakfast was not served early enough for us to enjoy which was slightly disappointing and means I cannot say anything about food... More

Stayed here 2 nights prior to Brighton marathon. Clean, comfy room, good breakfast (sadly not on Sun as we had to leave early. Friendly staff/ landlady. Easy drive to Brighton for exhibition and close to park and ride for actual event. Nice little town too. Only downside was no off road parking although we had no trouble finding street parking...
