There were three of us, and the Splash Point room suited us well. We had enough room to move around, hang things up and put them away (for a three-night stay). There's a nice couch, and the second bed is well placed in a corner. Very good beds. The bathroom was fine, and spotless, although with three of us showering... More

We stayed on bonfire night for easy access to Lewes. We were greeted most warmly, and shown our very comfy room. Spotlessly clean. I have to follow a gluten free diet, and the quality and variety of the snacks and breakfast that Lou provided was fantastic.

We stayed one night. Excellent family room with double and single bed and still plenty of space! En suite shower and bath. They were very welcoming esp to our dog Rosie with lots of free dog treats in the room. Good choice of teas and coffee etc. Excellent breakfast. Despite being on a main road it was not noisy. Top... Lou and Norm provide an above average standard of B&B accommodation. The rooms are comfortable and free of any external noise (traffic etc), with everything you expect and a few pleasant extras. The breakfasts are also above expectation, with a wide choice of cooked dishes, as well as juice, cereals and and Lou's home made jams.

This is a great BnB. Rooms, and bathroom, are small (as is standard and accepted) but the owner has gone to a lot of trouble to provide every little extra needed when travelling (including bath robes, toiletries etc). We arrived late without a booking but this was no problem to the owner/manager. We had a comfortable stay and definitely recommend... More

This place was recommended and I am pleased I stayed here for three nights for a recent oil painting course, rather than at the nearby place that some of my fellow students stayed at and complained about every morning. My room (Cuckmere Haven) was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. Tea and coffee in room with fresh milk and a range... More

We have just stayed in a nice B and B up north which we inevitably compared to The Silverdale. We realised it was missing a lot of the little extras we found at the Silverdale which makes The Silverdale excellent rather than just good. It also made us recall that we had forgotten to write a review on here but... More

We received a warm welcome when we arrived. Our room was clean and well presented with all the snacks and drinks we could have wanted. The information booklet catered for every possibility and nothing seemed too much trouble for our hosts. The guesthouse was very close to the shops, bus stop, cafes etc.The best bit was breakfast with so much... More

Thank you for taking time to send your comments about your stay. We're very happy you had a great stay with us and really appreciate your kind comments. We came across The Silverdale quite by chance having arrived on the outskirts of Newhaven to find no-one there at the B & B we had pre-booked and no response to phone calls:( Desperate to get a bed for the night after walking the South Downs all day, Silverdale was the first B&B to come up on Google and it... Let me say first that this was a wonderful stay. I have only knocked the price and services slightly and will explain. Help, friendliness, comfort, care, breakfast - all second to none. Still one of our all time favourite B&Bs. Price was knocked because personally we felt £6 per dog per night was a little steep. We understand the extra... More
