Our five nights at Oaklands was the highlight of our trip to England. Being our first trip to Rye, we had no idea where to stay. We chose Oaklands for their king-size beds, the description of their English breakfasts, and their location, which proved to be a perfect 25-minute walk from town center. It was the perfect choice. Diane and... More

It was our second stay at Oaklands we had been there in June 2013 and 2014. Rye is always our final stop on our South England "Park- and Gardentour" It is a pleasure to finish these trips in a luxury B&B with friendly and perfect hosts. The Rye room we had is elegant and beautiful furnished with a comfortable bed.... More

We spent four nights in this immaculate B & B. The location was perfect and was only a few minutes from Rye in the car. Tony and Diane were welcoming in every way and couldn't do enough for us. It was more like staying with friends. The breakfast was excellent (especially the porridge) with lots of choice and they even... More

We (two friends) stayed at Oaklands for four nights and the place is just wonderful! It exceeded our (already high) expectations by far! The house and the rooms are decorated with a lot of taste and love to details. The breakfast was perfect - and everything was homemade! Our hosts Diane and Tony made our stay very special - they... Wonderful location, sea on one side, rolling country side on the other. Stayed in The Mews - the self catering studio which is next to the B&B. Such a delight. The fixtures and fittings were every bit 4 star. Immaculately clean. Had a wonderful stay. Highly recommend this. 2 mins in the car and you are in Rye. 5 mins... More

We usually stay in hotels but in Southern England a bed and breakfast place seemed more appropriate so we gave it a try this summer. With Oaklands we found the perfect house and location very close to beautiful Rye (walking for about half an hour through awesome nature using public paths on farm fields - the last time we did... Welcome to paradise! Tony and Diane are the ideal hosts, extremely friendly without being overbearing; the breakfasts are huge and delicious; the rooms are spacious; the grounds beautiful, as is the surrounding area. Rye is a lovely town, and so are several other nearby communities. A great 2-3 night getaway. One cautionary note: best to drive there during daylight.

Oaklands is a well appointed and very comfortable location for a stay of a few days. Hosts Diane and Tony provide an attentive yet relaxed service and are very quick to put guests at their ease. The house is delightful and our room (the Rye room) was very pleasant. Highly recommended.

My husband and I had 5 nights with Diane and Tony and found them wonderful hosts very helpful and friendly. A lovely view from our beautifully decorated bedroom which was very clean and well maintained. Great breakfasts. Felt like they were our friends not paying guests. If we are ever back in the uk we would stay there again
