My wife and I recently visited this pub restaurant expecting a wholesome choice but were very disappointed with their quirky menu and rip off prices. Being very hungry, we decided to order and take a chance but realised it was not for us. Won't visit again.

Just a great stopover on our way to Tunnel. Really great people, helpful, seem to genuinely enjoy working there. You get a bright little room thats sparkling clean, a key to come in and out what ever time, a gorgeous hot shower and they let you bring your dog! Nice atmosphere in the old beamy pub and good local beers.

We've been coming here off and on for over 13yrs. There's lots to like here - fun & quirky decor (vintage, industrial and mid-century design), Burt's Bees toiletries, lovely laid back holiday vibe at all times, great range of drinks in its busy & relaxed bar and very good breakfasts. Lovely host, Theo, and young and friendly staff. Great location... More

Visited today mid afternoon and surprised at the cost of things on the menu however absolutely starving so decided to splurge a bit. Husband and I ordered the delightful sounding Sweet Potato salad with goats cheese dressing, one side portion of buttered chard & one portion chips. 10 year old son went for burger. With a drink each, this came... More

What a great place! Really quirky! Staff really lovely, friendly and helpful! Rooms were clean and spacious (we had room 8) with sticks of rock on the bed first night and Burts Bees products in the bathroom. Breakfast was huge and very very good! They even provided sausages for the dogs breakfast! I've never visited such a dog friendly town... More

We loved this place, our bedroom was very comfortable and really nicely decorated, it felt really relaxed and beachy. The bathroom was ok but could definitely do with a bit of an update. We had dinner in the pub downstairs and the food was good, although not much option for vegetarians - one option, ok if you like aubergine curry!... More

Stayed four nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. Rooms are on first and second floors - they're not big but have everything you need. Loads of hot water, flatscreen tv, rock-solid wifi, tea and coffee in your room + good quality bed linen and towels. Good choice of papers and mags in the pub, with... More

Had lunch at the Ship Inn. I ordered a steak sandwich, my husband had a burger. The food was delicious. The steak just melted in my mouth. The service was very quick. No waiting around for the food to come! The staff were really helpful in directing us to various places in Rye and even printing us a map of... More
