The hotel is a lovely old building within just a few paces of the very old and pretty streets of Rye. So it is a great location for visiting Mermaid Street and the high street and the other touristy delights of Rye. We stayed in room 9, which is apparently one of the larger rooms. There were a few old,... More

Very old Inn with ten rooms on the third floor so not good for people that have difficulty climbing stairs. the staff are helpful and cheerful. The breakfast is served from 08:00 until 11:00 so good for people that are on vacation not so good if a business trip. Very close to the Ypres Tower.

Booked a one night stay and thought the price charged for room on arrival rather dear considering how tired the property seemed. Our room was quite small but clean. Television wasn't working but this was soon rectified by the hotel. On retiring to bed I found that the Venetian blind next to the bed did not close so light from... More

Our room was small, as expected from the website and it was very clean and tidy. I do like to walk around barefoot indoors, but unfortunately the paint on the floorboards stuck to my feet, so had to abandon that idea. We stayed for five days last week and the weather was glorious, but this meant our room was very... More

Nice setting and interior of pub is nicely done out. Popped in for a quick sandwich and the place has a great range of beers. Ordered the rare roast beef sandwich with no horse radish. Inevitably it arrived with the horseradish in place. We didn't have long so I was unable to send it back, which I appreciate is my... More

We chose this restaurant because it looked cozy and was on walking distance from our fabulous hotel, Jeakes House on Mermaid street. The staff at the Ship Inn is very informal and a bit sloppy, the table at which we were seated was so sticky I felt the urge to use my napkin to clean it. It turned all grey!... More

We had great fun here, a relaxed atmosphere laid back with very helpful and friendly staff, our little dog also enjoyed her stay and was welcomed. A quirky and full of character place which holds great consort to Rye itself. I thoroughly recommend the Ship Inn and will be staying again!

As the owner of 2 small dogs, it is often difficult to find places to stay which make you feel comfortable with the dogs. The Ship Inn is completely opposite to this. The dogs were even given their own sausages for breakfast! Our room as small but nice and very clean. The breakfast were fab and the staff were lovely... More

Had a lovely night in the hotel on Monday night. Looked at the other reviews and upgraded to the Standard Double room (rather than the small double) as people had said it was small. Standard Double room was lovely and a decent size. Very clean, cute mismatched furniture, tea and coffee facilites in the room and Burts Bees in the... More
