What a great place! Really quirky! Staff really lovely, friendly and helpful! Rooms were clean and spacious (we had room 8) with sticks of rock on the bed first night and Burts Bees products in the bathroom. Breakfast was huge and very very good! They even provided sausages for the dogs breakfast! I've never visited such a dog friendly town... More

We loved this place, our bedroom was very comfortable and really nicely decorated, it felt really relaxed and beachy. The bathroom was ok but could definitely do with a bit of an update. We had dinner in the pub downstairs and the food was good, although not much option for vegetarians - one option, ok if you like aubergine curry!... More

Stayed four nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. Rooms are on first and second floors - they're not big but have everything you need. Loads of hot water, flatscreen tv, rock-solid wifi, tea and coffee in your room + good quality bed linen and towels. Good choice of papers and mags in the pub, with... More

Had lunch at the Ship Inn. I ordered a steak sandwich, my husband had a burger. The food was delicious. The steak just melted in my mouth. The service was very quick. No waiting around for the food to come! The staff were really helpful in directing us to various places in Rye and even printing us a map of... More

I could not recommend this place more highly - such a perfect pub with rooms. Quirky comfy spotless rooms full of character . Amazing breakfast. Kind funny happy helpful staff. The pub itself is welcoming and has a menu full of local food - we loved the pint of prawns with saffron Mayo - and good local beers. All in... More

The oldest pub in Rye apparently unfortunately the bar and toilets are a little dated. The staff however are attentive and friendly and the food is very good and promptly served. I had the ploughmans..... Mountains of salad good chunks of cheese and ham brown bread, Apple and thankfully a pickled onion. All washed down by an excellent pint of... More

We couldn't get into the Italian nearby, and had visited here for a drink before, so we asked for a table; no problem. Despite a staff shortage the waitress was extremely helpful and friendly, and told us there would be a wait since all food is cooked to order etc...this is a vibrant no pretence type of establishment, honest food...
