Having stayed in the George and the Mermaid, I can honestly stay I will always stay in Jeake's house when I visit Rye, which tends to be twice a year. Whilst the other places are perfectly nice, Jeake's house has an individuality and personal touch the others simply don't have. Friendly, inviting and cosy with out losing the sense of...

We booked for 2 nights 27-29 December. The hotel is lovely, very quirky and the breakfasts are excellent. However on the first night we rushed back from a meal to watch the second part of a TV programme. We tried everything on the controller but could not access any BBC channels. We tried ringing reception but no answer. Very disgruntled...

Jeake's House is set on picturesque Mermaid Street. Great to have a parking lot a few blocks away. The rooms are quaint and the honor bar area and sitting room offer wonderful reprieves. The breakfast room is picturesque and the food is bounteous. The proprietors could not be more welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Here's a neutral score from a couple who didn't stay here, so here's the story of what went wrong. Back in late August a relative passed away and we started to look at arrangements to travel to Rye which is a 200 mile trip. Knowing the date but awaiting confirmation of the time of day of the funeral in early...

I think this must have been my fourth stay in Jeake's House before my yearly visit to Rhythm Riot in Pontins, Camber Sands. Still wonderful, the friendliness of Jenny, Amanda, Jackie & Richard go a long way to make your stay very enjoyable. The rooms are terrific, breakfast is very good with an excellent selection. The honesty bar is ma...

Loved our time here, wish we could have stayed longer. The staff is amazing and our room was beautiful. Excellent experience across the board, and breakfast was absolutely delicious. Located on Mermaid Street, which is full of character, and walking distance from everything in the town.

A warm welcome at this historic hotel set the scene for our stay. Friendly, personable and customer focused staff. The bedroom met our needs and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast excellent all freshly cooked, and nothing too much trouble. The accompanying music was just right. The honesty bar was relaxing with a small selection of games

The house is very old with bags of charm. The dining room is beautiful and the breakfast menu first class and plentiful. There is a cosy bar just right for a nightcap and we found the staff very warm and friendly. It would definitely be our first choice of accommodation for future visits. Jeakes House is central to everything in...

This is an award winning inn for good reason. The folks that own and run it are friendly and helpful, the room was quite comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. As with nearly all historic inns, you will be climbing stairs to the rooms, but it is a beautiful interior with a theme focusing on art and literature. A comfortable...

Booked a room here on recommendation from a friend. Read all the reviews and it sounded fabulous. When booking I noticed that one room wasn't en suite so I checked and double checked that the room that I was booking was en suite and was assured that it was. On arrival we were shown to a room that wasn't en...
