My wife and I found this hotel by accident following a recommendation from a ‘man in a pub’. It is a delightful place to stay – steeped in history, very friendly, very comfortable with lovely breakfasts and quiet at night!! We would definitely stay again when visiting Rye.

This was a Xmas present from my children, for my wife and I. If it is your first visit, it is up about 20 yards from the bottom of Mermaid St. It is best to drive up to the hotel and park outside, to drop off your luggage. You will then be given a map to the car park; it... More

Had a wonderful weekend here. I would agree with a previous reviewer that the Benson Room shower is tiny, but this didn't really bother us as we were on a budget post-Christmas extravagance and had decided not to splash out on a larger room. It was lovely anyway, and the bed was very cosy. The breakfast room (and the breakfast... More

I found Jeake's House through a feature in the Guardian and instantly thought it looked like a lovely place to stay with my partner for a short break. Needless to say we were not disappointed! The place is really quirky but cosy, with an 'honesty bar' with games and newspapers and a smaller little room with a piano. The bedroom... More

My wife and I recently enjoyed a short break in Rye, staying at Jeake's House for the fourth, or perhaps fifth time, although our first since 2008. We were delighted to find that despite the passing of time the welcome from Jenny and Richard was as warm as ever. We expected a comfortably furnished and spacious room, sumptuous breakfasts and... What an absolute treat to be able to stay in such a unique hotel, with its own iconic style. Situated in Mermaid street in Rye it is perfectly placed to easily enjoy all that this historic town has to offer. Each room in Jeakes House is beautifully decorated, in my view French boudoir style, with lovely furniture and luxurious modern... More

It's no surprise that this place has won so many awards, it is simply fabulous. I stayed here a year ago and decided to try again. I was welcomed like one of the family. My room was huge with a very modern bathroom. Breakfast is also excellent and I could not resist the full English for three out of four... More

Stayed in the benson and the Lowry rooms - both amazing although the Lowry has a roll top bath which Is a real treat ! The breakfasts are really quality including devilled kidneys which aren't available anywhere else I've seen - the pillow is so comfortable I've ordered it for home ! Lovely Christmassy feel in the centre of rye... More
