A mile out of Rye so not ideal for soaking up the atmosphere of the ancient town but handy for visiting friends in Playden. The town centre of Rye is. 5 minute car or bus ride away, or can be reached on foot via the aptly named Deadmans Lane. No footpath and regular traffic. Our room was in the main...

We stayed here for a night between Christmas and New Year and it was absolutely lovely. The welcome that you get from the family was great and you can tell that the staff all enjoy being there. The wine list catered for all budgets and was pretty extensive for a pub. We enjoyed a few drinks in front of the roaring...

At aged here for the weekend and must be one of the best places I've stayed. The bed was huge and comfortable. The food was off this world would highly recommend this place to everyone. The staff were helpful and energetic. And the atmosphere in the pub area was great had a great chat with the locals

Stayed there for a couple of nights, at the Lodge which is a 2 bedroom and living room cabin with our two small children, 4 and 6 yo. Couldn't fault it, it was such a lovely stay, kitchen equipped, bedrooms lovely (kids loved having their own telly in their room!), breakfast delicious and quick for the kids, quiet, so much...

Stayed in the motel units at the back. These are fine - quiet location - clean and presentable and represented good value for money. We were meeting family for dinner in the restaurant here so the location made good sense. Happy with choice.

We stayed here during September in the relatively modern motel style rooms at the rear. Quiet, clean and comfy. Interesting décor although the whole deal and experience was good. Would be happy to use again when next in Rye.

Really lovely accommodation for a daily or 2 couples. The accommodation is beautifully decorated and has very comfortable beds!! Great choice of breakfast in the morning, the pub serves fresh food. Short walk from the town of Rye. Very helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Thanks:)

We stayed in the White room in the main building. As the building is a few hundred years old you expect the odd creak and slightly sloping floor. There was no wardrobe in the room as there is no room for one, although plenty of drawer was there. That sounds as though the room was small, it wasn't. Cleanliness was...

We stayed in the 'Champagne' room for four nights while working in the area. A lovely big room, with two windows, a very comfortable super-king (zip link) bed, massive ensuite with a huge shower, great wifi service, on site parking and plug points for business traveller. The staff are the jewel in the crown here: Jess, Kim, Dotty and Aaron...

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Very clean, large & dog friendly room (Champagne) although some road traffic noise had a very comfortable stay. There are chalets too situated at the back around a large car park which would suit dog owners better. Food was excellent, although the wine list is a tad on the expensive side. Situated at the top...
