We wanted a quiet, restful few days and that is what we had. Saltcote Place is elegant and charming, with lots of friendly touches, like a brandy nightcap in the bedroom. Paul is a great host and Alain's breakfast was superb. He has an amazing singing voice too!

We had such a lovely stay at Saltcote Place Rye. Paul and Alan were exceptional hosts and always asking if we needed anything. We stayed in the Bridal Suite and had the most glorious views of Rye, Camber Sands and even the English Channel in the distance. It was supposed to be a nice break for us before returning home...

Alan & Paul do everything possible to be the ultimate hosts in their lovely home; breakfast as good as any five star and bedrooms very comfortable. Saltcote Place is in lovely grounds the perfect distance from Rye to feel like you are in the country but with all of Rye close at hand....there are even two good pubs between Saltcote...

My husband Robert said that it took him some hours to decide on the accommodation that he wanted us to stay to celebrate our 7th wedding aniversary as he wanted to make it very special for me. I can assure you that I was completely lost for words when I saw Saltcote Place in Rye. The peacefulness of the surroundings,...

This is a very special place which Paul and Alan run as almost a personal country house retreat. From the moment you arrive your luggage disappears to your room while you sit back and enjoy a tea or glass of wine with them. All rooms including the kitchen/diner where breakfast is taken are beautifully decorated and the same attention is...

Our whole experience this weekend at Saltcote Place has been exceptional. Alan and Paul couldn't have made our stay more special. They went out of their way to help my boyfriend execute his proposal and helped us celebrate wonderfully. Not only is the breakfast delicious and the room spotless, but their attention to detail and their hosting skills are second...

It started with a wonderful welcome from Alan with a glass of wine and a friendly chat. We stayed in the Royal Military Suite which was absolutely amazing. Paul and Alan offer a a turn down service at night with a nightcap of your choice put in your room on a silver tray with chocolates. When we went down for...

We said we'd be back and back we were. This time briefly but have also booked in again for a few days in February next year. Lovely to catch up again with Paul and Alan. Place looked as lovely on our arrival and we're welcomed as friends. Great guys and great place. Can't wait to get back. See you soon...

Brilliantly warm welcome, tea & conversation. Personal and creative attention to our every need - from a champagne breakfast with Alan's scrumptuous "loch" eggs (scrambled, with smoked salmon), and an evening night-cap (our choice of port) in our room, to rose petals on our duvet on our anniversary! Paul gave us lots of helpful information about the best places to...

We were welcomed with tea and conversation - it was as if we were visiting old friends and made to feel at home. The location, decor, ambience and friendliness was spot on. Although ours was a very short stay, we felt we had had a truly relaxing time - crowned by the pre-breakfast champagne! The breakfast itself was so good...
