My wife and I stayed overnight, taking one of the last available rooms, having booked at last minute. Converted council offices with history make this an interesting venue. Very clean and fresh featuring a range of modern art. Bedrooms comfortable with all amenities. Due to our late booking the staff were unable to accommodate us for dinner, which was disappointing.... My friends and I were looking for an outside space to have a drink and lunch in the sunshine. We went to Pelham House, and had some fabulous specialty cider and beer and amazing sandwiches. We thought(initially) they were quite expensive, but when they arrived there was three halves, chips and salad! The bread was lovely and fresh and the... More

Pelham House could and should be fabulous but they let themselves down. We visited for afternoon tea but the service was so appalling that we gave up after an hour and a half and went elsewhere. It's a beautiful building in the best location in Lewes. Their inability to provide decent service is unforgivable. We keep giving them the benefit... More

Firstly the good stuff: the hotel itself is lovely. This is our second trip here, the last one being 2 years ago. The breakfast serving staff are superb, very helpful and efficient. The room was very clean. Now the rest: We booked 6 months ago for 3 nights. Because we knew how lovely the garden was we paid extra for... More

We have stayed at Pelham House many times over the last 5 years for our summer trips to Glyndebourne. It's a lovely old house and the rooms are nice if simple. Sadly it has gone very downhill in that time. I'm sad to write such a poor review but it appears that their only interest these days is weddings not... More

I stayed for 1 night and was quite excited for the visit after seeing the photos of the hotel and grounds but unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. It was easy to walk to from the train station and it was an ideal location for restaurants in the evening. The reception area was lovely and the main building... More

Stayed for one night as attending Love Supreme Festival, only parking for 11cars so had to park in station car park, then trudge up road with cases. Beautiful building so thought we would be staying in actual hotel but our room was across the car park. Nice clean room but we had paid £180 so expected bit more than a... More

Pelham House Hotel is magnificent. The moment we drew up in our car I said to my husband "we must come here for a romantic weekend". As it was, we were staying for one night only as we had a work commitment the next day. What was right with it? It is a beautiful old building. Upon arrival it feels... More

I went with a couple of friends for lunch at Pelham House this week. Having had previous good experience here we expected a treat. We were seated outside promptly and were told someone would come to take our order. They didn't and after about 20 minutes we went and sought someone out having been unsuccessful in getting the attention of... More

A very disappointing tea for the price paid. The food was laid out for us in a private room but no service provided, so we had to queue up to make cups of tea from jugs of hot water and tea bags. Would have been much nicer if pots of tea & coffee had been provided for each table. Only... More
