Had I read the reviews preceding this, I wouldn't have visited, but I'm glad I did. Yes, this pub is found at the end of a long narrow windy road, but that's half the fun feeling like you have found somewhere off the beaten track. It's lovely that we still have bits of our countryside left that are quite rural... More

This will sadly be my first negative review ! Beautiful pub and surroundings unfortunately I ordered a chefs chicken salad for £10:00 I might add ! The salad consisted of only lettuce with two anchovies and four rather dry pieces of chicken ! I was extremely disappointed and believe a salad should really consist of a bit more ! I... More

The website for this venue promises much but this place itself delivers very little. Located at the end of a single vehicle road where we had to stop and reverse four times along the way, one finds oneself at a field for a car park and a pub which is long overdue a pot of paint. The food offer is... More

Only one young woman to serve drinks and manage boats who seemed very polite . So, we forgave the disgusting wine, the flat coke and soda and dealt with the fact that having booked in advance for food, there was none available and the chef had gone home. This was 5.30pm! But the last straw was being asked to pay... More

Every time we visit it gets better and better . If you are looking for a day out with the family and friends in the countryside , this is the place to go . And with a stunning new outside bar am definitely looking forward to our next chance to visit

For Father's Day I decided I'd like to take my wife and teenage sons boating, followed by lunch. So out of the massive range of choices open to us for this enterprise, we chose The Anchor Inn at Barcombe. Boating: the boat was in a poor state of repair, slowly letting in water, and very expensive. But it's a lovely... More

Beautiful setting but shame the young lady serving behind the bar is so unwelcoming and miserable! She needs to learn customer service skills as manners don't cost anything and a smile goes a long way! Shame as otherwise a lovely pub but won't be rushing back.

Table booked food ordered, took a long time to arrive then two meals missing altogether and no veg with the roasts and no mint sauce with lamb. The meal was spoilt by this so will not judge the standard of food . Had to ask twice before missing meals arrived and veggies arrived so late we d eaten the meat... More

Visited on a busy day during a storm which drove everyone indoors . There was some understandable chaos because people had placed orders for food then moved off their tables indoors . However the staff were very friendly and helpful and advised us that there may be some delay with our food , there was a slight delay but nothing... More
