We stayed here for Nov 5th Bonfire night in Lewes. The Roebuck is a short drive from Lewes, have a Sat Nav to find the inn at night. It is a lovely place full of character. The staff are delightful and to my great surprise offer a gluten free breakfast with no prior notice. The rooms we had are large,... More

My wife and I stayed here with our baby, and wowsers, what a great experience we had! Firstly, the room was great! Large, lots of local books, digital radio and complimentary home made cookies. No TV, but certain that was intentional. The pub itself is great, wonderful food (plenty of vegetarian options for us), good beer and the staff couldn't... More

We arrived early for check in as we were going to wedding fairly locally. Grant made sure our rooms were ready swiftly and made us so welcome from the minute we arrived. Nice rooms, fantastic staff lovely breakfast... Wish we had been staying longer than the one night.

Called in for a lunch; nice pub excellent service, food quality was good but the portions were small for the price. The prices were comparable to many other pubs we have lunched at, but the quantity was less. So although a very nice pub not good value on this occasion.

This is the first time that we visited this Pub with our old friends that took us there.(Monday, 8 August 2016). This is B & B as well but we did not stay at the place. Generally good Pub food and half portion meal is available for children or for an adult!. We sat outside in the garden which was... More

We enjoyed excellent roast beef, locally sourced sausages, and sea bass dishes for our Sunday lunch, followed by very tasty home made ice cream, washed down by good beers from the nearly Firle Brewery. Although the restaurant soon filled up, the personal attention given to us by the proprietors Dominic and Tony, as well as their staff, really made this... More

Went for lunch with a group yesterday. Lovely setting, quirky decoration, welcoming staff and wonderful food from a menu to suit all tastes. Shall go back to eat myself through the menu. Had belly pork with mash and beans, others incredible steak and mushroom pie and curry madras. Good portions, all was excellent. Home made cakes available but couldn't resist... More

We visited The Roebuck a couple of years ago and found it unwelcoming, bland and tired. However, the new owners seem to have given the place a proper kick up the backside and have turned it into a warm friendly place with an excellent selection of interesting beers, good food and most importantly a warm welcome. Local ales, pigs in... More

I stayed here one my own for one night, probably too expensive for what you get and no reduction for solo traveler. That said, lovely accommodation in that mine was a pretty room, lots of good 'complimentary' quality teas and coffees and biscuits as well as a small mini bar. Also breakfast was excellent which is really what prompted me... More

nice local pub with some interesting and mad decorative effects. The men's urinals are a special feature...into the mouths of gargoyles... The staff and service was good and the atmosphere convivial. Food however was only ok, let down a little by overdone Yorkshire pud. There is a large garden including wandering hens and a small pig paddock, the occupants of... More
