Stopped by for a drink at the bar on Monday of this week as the bar du vin next door was empty. Wish I had found another bar. No atmosphere, dingy and dark. Dour and miserable barman and to add insult The cost: 2 large gins £21.80 2 tonics £5.00 Vat £4.48 Total: £26.80 This is Brighton, many great bars...

Our evening started with cocktails, made by the very knowledgable Andy helped by James. We continued on to dinner with superb food, excellent pairings of flavours (tiger prawns with pastis and chili butter, scallops ceviche in lime juice with pomegranate and chili for starters; perfectly cooked filet steak, sea trout almandine on a bed of green vegetables). We also had...

We booked a Superior double king size bedroom which was decorated modern chic and a bathroom with roll top bath and monsoon shower was beautifully decorated...

Got this hotel on a Lastminute.com discounted booking so it came in at a very good rate. The rooms are very well presented and maintained. Comfy beds, nice decor and the bathrooms are first-rate. The breakfast is very nice, lots of good options. The bar is open till late and they have great staff to make whatever cocktail you're into....

Lovely birthday lunch with friends. The food was delicious and the service was attentive and friendly. Located just off Brighton seafront Hotel du Vin is excellently located however the seafront is very busy with traffic so allow time to get there. Lovely interior and would love to go back for afternoon tea.

My family gave us Hotel du Vin vouchers for Christmas as we frequently use our local one in Winchester. However, the amount covered enough for a night away. We found a dinner, bed and breakfast package on line and decided to try Brighton as we had never been there before. All seemed well. We arrived rather early and our room...

Stayed here for a few days, lovely location just off the seafront. Great welcome and shown to our rooms on arrival. Room was lovely and large bathroom with bath and shower. Did not eat in an evening, but breakfast was great and the bar is lovely with great selections.

My partner and I visited for dinner and the food was amazing, quite expensive but definitely worth it and nice for a one-off meal. The staff are friendly and attentive. I will definitely visit again for a special occasion.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel du Vin Brighton is situated in the Lanes conservation area, a pebbles' throw from the seafront. Its 49 bedrooms are housed in a collection of eccentric Gothic revival and mock Tudor buildings erected, appropriately by a wine merchant on the site of an old inn. Among many interesting features are a heavily carved staircase and bizarre gargoyles, while the original double-height hall now houses the wine bar and Laroche tasting room. The perfect venue for a picturesque wedding or party is the impressively large and airy Dome room. For the best tankered of local ale, Pub du Vin is one of Brighton city center's treasures with its classic pub dining. Out with the Brighton hotel is the wonder and inspiring town itself, with quaint streets dotted with fabulous shops, and of course the famous pier and promenade. ... more   less
