I took my partner for Sunday lunch . Nice court yard to sit in if you like to sit outside and looked very nice bar and restaurant inside. Food was very good and I would have given a better review had the service not been so very very slow. Staff seemed to lack any sense of urgency and it took... More

I booked on the day, having been let down by laterooms.com on a hotel in Lewes, 9 miles away. I paid £325 and was expecting a luxury hotel, making up a little for the disaster caused by others. No parking added £23. The room was ok, bar was ordinary, populated by people who had drunk too much and the staff... More

This is a hotel whereby if you want to book a meal, fine. If you want to book a room for a stay, fine. The two together - impossible because the reception staff haven't a clue as to what goes on in the dining room. We booked a one night stay, all good, and it's not cheap, by any means.... More

My review is limited to a lunchtime experience; I have never actually stayed at the hotel. We were attracted to this place as it was a beautiful afternoon, and it has a lovely courtyard that you can sit in, as the 4 of us did. We had originally intended just to have a drink there and started off with a... More

We stayed for two nights this week for a break away just us. We were allowed to check in early, which was great. However we were kept awake both mornings from 6.45am ish by the door opposite our room constantly banging due to people going to breakfast. It was horrendous, and so frustrating considering we had been really looking forward... More

Hdv developed a format of boutique, luxury-lite themed city centre hotels and I've enjoyed several stays here and in other cities over the years. This time however is likely to be my last since a combination of increased prices, declining room standards and the noise/smell compromise of the location makes the equation less attractive. My first room was at the... More

The Hotel and bar don't serve "bitter"....see what happens when you Frenchafy an establishments name, no good English Bitter!!!!! bring on Brexit....only joking..Pleasant lunch.

We recently has our daughters wedding at Hotel Du Vin and had the most perfect day. From the first meeting to plan the day we knew we were in very capable hands. The Hotel itself is just beautiful and unique, classy and stylish. The location is great and we were able to walk down to the beach for photographs after... More

We arrived at the hotel on a Friday night. The staff were very friendly and showed us to our room. The room was large and spacious with a lovely free standing bath and separate powerful shower. The bed was very comfortable and we were on the third floor which was quiet. We all met for dinner, yet again staff were... More

Just returned yesterday from a wonderful visit to Brighton with my daughter on a university inspection trip! Thoroughly enjoyed staying at this very centrally located hotel which is conveniently just off the main drag, very close to the Grand Hotel. The decor is very cool, trendy and high-class as you would expect from this quality brand. After a very warm... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel du Vin Brighton is situated in the Lanes conservation area, a pebbles' throw from the seafront. Its 49 bedrooms are housed in a collection of eccentric Gothic revival and mock Tudor buildings erected, appropriately by a wine merchant on the site of an old inn. Among many interesting features are a heavily carved staircase and bizarre gargoyles, while the original double-height hall now houses the wine bar and Laroche tasting room. The perfect venue for a picturesque wedding or party is the impressively large and airy Dome room. For the best tankered of local ale, Pub du Vin is one of Brighton city center's treasures with its classic pub dining. Out with the Brighton hotel is the wonder and inspiring town itself, with quaint streets dotted with fabulous shops, and of course the famous pier and promenade. ... more   less
