We spent a short break and we were happy with the hotel. The decor in the lounge is quaint and very interesting. Our bedroom was small but very clean and fresh. The TV was tiny but the sea view was brilliant. Breakfast was well cooked but simple. Real and tastier brown bread would have been appreciated, and not a lot... More

We went to Brighton this weekend on a last minute whim and didn't pre-book so drove around looking for a hotel with vacancies that appealed to us. We saw The Lanes hotel and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The hotel has an old world charm that makes you feel instantly at home and the staff... More

Often go to Brighton and this is the only hotel I go to, providing I can book the top floor balcony room. The room is ok clean etc, but its the balcony that is the real deal breaker. last time I visited I spent the whole weekend on the balcony (apart from going out to eat) fantastic location and if... Stayed in Brighton a few times now and really liked this hotel. Nice room overlooking the sea, parked across the road, good location to walk into town. Faultless really! Breakfast was included which was nice, however the menu stated that you could help yourself to hot food when in fact it was waitress service, who were all very nice. Thats... More

If you don't like big chains this traditional hotel may be the one for you. We had a nice room with a fantastic sea view, just a 10 min stroll from the pier and the lanes, plus managed to park outside the hotel. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty with as much tea and coffee as you liked The... More

Just back from a 2 night stay here with my husband and 3 year old. Had great views over the sea and of the pier. Was only a 5 minute walk down to the pier. We stayed in room 202 and had lovely sea views. Staff were very friendly and the food was nice. Although on the 2nd morning when... More

I was warned by a local guest house owner to 'avoid The Lanes Hotel'. I'm glad that I ignored that advice. The atmosphere, decor and service feel like a classic English seaside guest house. The self-consciously added hipster adornments that plague other businesses in Brighton are nowhere to be seen here. If you want to stay in an authentic seaside... More

This hotel is great value for money. Ok it's not the Ritz and there are improvements that need to be made, but to have a sea view ensuite room with a four poster bed for £60/night, well can't beat that. The only downside to my latest visit was the lift broke down one morning with me in it, but the... More
