We travel to Brighton annually for a long weekend. Usually a fan of the Hilton, we chose something a little different for our stay and were not disappointed. I booked us into the 1st floor double with balcony and bathroom. Amazing value for money, fantastic location, super attentive staff and a delicious breakfast served to your room! What's not to... Cute quirky place to stay. The rooms were small, but adequate. The stairs were narrow so had to be careful with your footing & with carrying luggage. The room freshly painted & clean. Had to order breakfast at check in. Breakfast was good, hot and tastey. We asked about checkout as our train was not leaving until late afternoon &... More

We arranged to stay here for 2 nights with another couple. Location is great and rooms perfectly adequate. Unfortunately the manager or owner (don't know which one they are) is incredibly rude! On arrival we were told that our friends' room was double booked. There was no apology for this though and we were told it would be first come... More

Location close to everything within walking distance which was great! Owner had no idea what customer service is and makes you feel uncomfortable. Breakfast day 1: 45 mins late; was told it was our fault cos we didn't say good morning! Also wanted to eat with our friends but they got served 20 mins before us! Breakfast day 2: ordered... More

I was on a course for a week and paid just under £500 to stay, the shower wouldn't work unless it was cold.. And who wants a cold shower? I could only get 2 channels on my tv when the website said I could get freeview and when I mentioned this to the owner he tried fixing it and said... More

Where do I even start with this place? We arrived on Saturday afternoon a little bit early for our check in. A lady was outside the front door of the hotel wearing an apron and shouting rather loudly on her mobile phone. After standing there for a few minutes with no acknowledgement we went to try the door. At this... More

Room was very small, you couldn't sit on the toilet without your knees touching the sink and the bathroom was just a converted cupboard. Very little sleep due to constant noise outside and bedroom window had to be kept open as it was very hot and no air conditioning. Parking was useful although cost extra and breakfast had to be... The room for 3 was booked last December. Since then there are new owners. When we arrived, the third bed had not been made and tea facilities were for 2. The room was very small and the bathroom minute. The owner emphasised the wonderful breakfast. There was a choice, but you can only choose one dish, are given a small... More

As pointed out by a recent reviewer this place has changed and it's such a shame. I've stayed here multiple times over the years but that will be my last. I've never had a problem staying at the property but i'm at a loss as to what making such ridiculous cutbacks and delivering poor customer service will achieve. I didn't... More

My partner and I love Brighton and we are very glad we chose to stay at Motel Schmotel this visit. We spent three nights here and although we didn't spend much time in and around the hotel it was a great choice for somewhere to crash after long days of fun. On arrival we are greeted by a friendly man... More
