We stayed here in July 2016. There is ample off road private parking. We were met by Ian, a very efficient and friendly reception process with the amenities for the hotel and our room explained. Room 2 was upstairs and was a good size with everything you might expect in a good quality hotel. The bathroom was well maintained and... More

Wingrove House has gone from being a slightly upmarket pub to a very pleasant eatery over the years. Having not been to it's latest iteration, indeed not been there for some years we took the plunge and went last night. On arrival one is struck by the feel of a colonial house, nice gardens and impressive entrance with a formal... More

My wife and I and two friends spent two nights in this beautiful colonial style house, with wisteria trailing round the balconies and, as the last property to the south end of Alfriston village, perfectly located. Our room was very tasteful and had a fine balcony. The shower room was small but that's not surprising in adaptations of old houses... More

Excellent choice. We spent two nights here as we had tickets to see the WTA tennis at Eastbourne and wanted a quiet, relaxing bolt-hole close by. Wingrove House proved to be the perfect choice. We had a very comfortable room with a super-king size bed and huge, well-equipped bathroom, excellent food ( we had only booked dinner on the first night... My wife and I have just spent a memorable few days at this "chic" hotel. It is meticulously run by Ian Graham, who we presume is the General Manager. The reception by Ian was warm, and thoughtful, offering afternoon tea after our long journey. The room was clean and immaculate. Supper was a delight, the service again under Ian was... More

We stayed last night and could not fault it. We were in a room in the eves like the previous reviewer, however we were able to keep cool even though it was very warm and humid outside. We kept the window open overnight and kept the shutters closed and had the Dyson air blade on a low setting so the... More

We were booked in here by friends with whom we were going to Glyndebourne. This is a review of one of the £200 rooms and breakfast, not the lower priced ones. Our room was at the top of quite a steep and narrow staircase which you need to navigate with care carrying your luggage. It was in the eaves of... More

Have been going to the Wingrove for a few years now, and it's always been good. The menu is varied and adventurous with lots of local products. The service is just right. Sadly, Nick is no longer there, but Ian is always personable and professional.

Fed up with Indian and Chinese meals for celebrations. Wanted somewhere with a bit of class and quality We found it at this lovely, restful place. Food was very good, highly recommend the cheese cake. Service was helpful and not intrusive. £35 for a three course meal with coffee. Well worth it..

My husband and I were looking for a small romantic hotel to stay at for our 9th wedding anniversary and came across Wingrove House whilst trawling the internet. What a great find! On arrival we were given a warm welcome, some information about the village and local area and shown to our room which was on the top floor. The... More
