Been a while since our last visit to the Pines, but we stayed for 3 nights recently and our experience was outstanding. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Also, whilst we have always enjoyed the breakfast here, we particularly like the fact that you can have fish; either haddock or a kipper, on this occasion we stayed half board....

Expensive for a 2 day break, but reduces for subsequent days, so much better value for longer stays. Wine, one bottle of house red at £18-50 and one bottle of Petit Chabis at £30. The 2 night d,b&b rate of £396, plus a tip and morning paper made our bill £456 (228 per day out of season). On the first...

My wife booked a surprise birthday weekend for us, plus our 2 dogs, at the Pines in Nov 2016. Room 9 was excellent; a ground floor room with large patio doors onto a grassed area; ideal for both the dogs and us. View was terrific, directly out to the Isle of Wight with Swanage Bay to the right and Ballard...

We had a lovely break at the pines in half term. The staff were friendly and flexible. The location is lovely, with private steps down to a lovely beach, 5 minute walk to the coast path and out of the centre so very peaceful. It is quite a long walk into the town depending how active you are. The stand...

Not a very attractive hotel from the rear but nice enough inside and with great ocean views from the dining room. The waiters were friendly but spoke bad English. The food was surprisingly good and not too expensive. Just why you were expected to get up and pay on the way out like some cheap fast food place was beyond...

What a wonderful hotel every staff member were so friendly and very professional , our room overlooked the sea and the room was spotless with the most wonderful view. The restaurant also had great views and every mouthful of food was amazing, there are well kept gardens with tables and chairs for a relaxing afternoon tea or an alcoholic beverage.The...

This hotel is clean, quiet, and comfortable, with very pleasant staff in the reception, and a lovely terrace overlooking the sea and a private access down to the beach. However, getting served in the dining room is a trial due to the staff not being that efficient and not speaking basic English. I mean "butter"? Breakfast is particularly taxing. Why...
