We stayed here for 3 nights whilst in Swanage for a friend's wedding. It's a really nice youth hostel with great facilities, friendly staff & served a lovely breakfast. Would definitely recommend & if we find ourselves in Swanage again this will be our first choice to stay!

I stayed at the hostel during a geography field trip with my school. Firstly the beds were extremely uncomfortable: the mattresses felt and looked like gym mats; the pillows were painfully thin and one of my friends found that his pillow had blood on it which I found unacceptable. In addition the service for food was very slow, although this... More

Thank you for taking time to write a review, I am pleased to read that overall you enjoyed your Geography field trip. However I am sorry to hear that you found the beds uncomfortable, especially as we have just invested in new mattresses throughout. I agree that it is unacceptable that your friends pillow had blood on it & we... More

The hostel is in a great location, no more than 5 minutes walk from the sea front and the centre of Swanage but far enough out of town to be quiet at night. In addition, there a good views of the pier and sea front from the hostel. The staff are both helpful and friendly and the hostel has a... More

Not stayed in a YHA for many years, but pleasantly surprised. The private rooms are comfortable - if not spacious - but space is at a premium. The shared facilities were clean and tidy - reasonable showers with hot water. Efficient check in and perfectly edible cooked breakfast which was good value. Good location with parking on site and on... More

Booked into YHA Swanage for a couple of nights away just me and my little boy (4) over the Easter holidays. Stayed in Room 3 - room was very clean and tidy, we had bunk beds which my little one thought was great and a sink in the room. Toilets and showers were right next door so very convenient (although... More

Great hostel for our short trip to Swanage. Very clean and well organised. The food looked very good but we self catered. Located within a 5 minute walk from the beach and the town centre. Close to the steam railway. Parking OK.

Well located approx. 5 mins walk from main Street and shops. As with many hostels rooms are basic but functional. Friendly staff and equally friendly guests. Stayed during Easter break and was full of families, as with most hostel breaks kids made loads of friends quickly and easily and pretty much left to own devices in evening. Good lounge and... More

Please remember this is a youth hostel, not the Ritz hotel as some reviewers seem to think! For £13 over the Easter weekend it was perfect. I did think my room was a little cramped with three bunks, but overall my stay was wonderful. Helpful friendly staff, lovely grounds, just a short walk uphill from the beach, and a great... More

Had a pleasant night at yha swanage. Food we had there was good. Lounge and games room were very nice - and games room had wifi. We had a 4 bed family room, which had a view of the sea - typical basic yha room, with no unnecessary frills.

Thank you for taking time to write a review, it's very much appreciated. We are working hard to improve our standards and pleased that you enjoyed the food, your room and other hostel facilities. The sea views are fantastic and I only wish all rooms could be facing the sea. Take care and we hope to see you again soon. More
