Malcolm was friendly and very welcoming. The Bakehouse is in a great location in Sherborne, just around the corner from the centre and the Abbey. The breakfast was lovely! Thanks Malcolm (and Charlie, the dog) for making it a great stay.

thank you for kind review , last guy who reviewed this room you stayed in hated it ! I come to the conclusion that 10% of our guests wouldnt dream to come back here , but i can live with that , because 90 % would , some people dont like the decor , some dont like dogs , some... More

We stayed just the one night at The Bakehouse and I would not rush back again I am afraid to say. The property has no dedicated parking but we managed to find some on-street parking fairly nearby. Our main concern though was our drab and gloomy room at the front of the property (with attendant traffic noise) which looked and... More

sorry you didnt enjoy your stay ,i feel most of your comments are unfounded , of course if you book a room in a town you are going to get traffic noise , however we have secondary glazing so it is minimal ,room is furnished with an edwardian wardrobe , two edwardian , bedside cupboards ,and a victorian pine desk... I would highly recommend this B&B if you're looking for something non-fussy, convenient and comfortable. It's a cosy, friendly and delightful place to stay if you're happy with staying somewhere basic and affordable. Malcolm and Charlie (the loveable Labrador) are really welcoming, helpful and good company at breakfast. The food at breakfast is delicious and there's a really wide choice... More

Stayed here with work mates and it was purely a place to get our head down whilst out drinking. Didn't have breakfast or anything. Beds were comfortable and the place was clean and tidy. Cheap too! Worth looking at if you're on a budget. Close to the town centre too.

I have stayed in the Bakehouse a number of times over the years and have enjoyed every stay I have had at the Bakehouse. My fiancee and I stayed at the Bakehouse over a weekend to visit Sherborne (where I went to school). We had a wonderful time and staying at here was like staying at a home from home.... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast was great. Malcolm was very welcoming and helpful and we loved Charlie the lab. B&B situated close to high street. It was clean and well kept with a homely atmosphere.

Double glazing didn't work. Outside window would not shut. Noise awful from traffic.Bathroom door wouldn't shut. No bathmat until we asked for one. No coat hangers till we asked. No bedside lamp for single bed and one side of double bed not working. Breakfast chaotically served though fine when it came. Lights outside our room seemed to have a mind... More

The English breakfast is just superb and clearly Malcolm the owner knows how to satisfy. That was the most enjoyable part of the stay. The modern shower with good water pressure and temperature, and unfailing wifi coverage are also worth commending. However, the furnishings are basic and to say some of it "cheap" would not be unfair. The common area... More

i am sorry you found the furniture basic and cheap, the building is over 200 yrs old and we use antique and vintage styles in the rooms , to people who are used to modern hotel style furniture i can understand its bit of a shock ! thank you for your other comments kind regards malcolm More
