We were 2 couples so the adjoining rooms with their own entrances were very convenient. Nicely furnished and beautifully clean, the views were gorgeous. Excellent full English breakfast with a very friendly landlady who made us welcome. Fresh milk and biscuits awaited us in our rooms on arrival. No parking in Shaftesbury but the car park is just a 5...

I recently spent two nights at The Old Farriers. It was a lovely place to stay - a well appointed room with an excellent view. Breakfast was very good and I can recommend it to others looking for fair priced accommodation in this attractive Dorset town.

The Old Farriers is a great place to relax. Everything was excellent right from the start when Dorothy greeted us with warm fresh scones to breakfast both mornings on the terrace. the views were to die for and the room so comfortable, the only down side was that we were only there for two nights not long enough but we...

Dorothy at Old Farriers could not have been more hospitable. She brought us warm scones after we arrived! When we asked if we could store some white wine in her refrigerator, she brought it to us cold with pretty wine glasses after a long day of sight-seeing! Ask about her delicious fish and rice dish - Ketteridge. She was delightful...

...when you arrive dont be put off by the scruffy nature of the alley or the houses that are at the bottom, as we initially were. Dorothy has a little haven there and once youre inside the room, which because of the decking, feels more like a little apartment, is outstanding - as are the cream tea and the breakfast....
