We were originally looking for a mini break on the coast, but it being August, prices were high and availability low. Looking inland a bit we found Aquila Heights which turned out to be perfect. The house is spotless, our room was enormous (room 5) and had everything you could possibly need, hairdryer, impressive array of toiletries, bottled water, fan,... More

I stayed 2 nights while my husband was in hospital. The property was close to the hospital and town. It is a lovely home with good food and helpful hosts. The area is residential and felt very safe for a single visitor.

Nothing seems too much trouble at the Aquila Heights. Our room, although small, was bright and sunny and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable and the amazing choice of shampoos and shower gels in the bathroom almost equalled the huge choice of cooked breakfasts, jams and marmalades. We brought bikes with us - it is only a 5 minute cycle... More

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Aquila Heights in Dorchester and both myself and my husband have had a very pleasant stay, having also stayed here exactly a year ago. Despite new ownership, Derek and Wendy have been super hosts and we both feel that they have done very well for, perhaps, the first few months... More

Having a lovely stay here. Hosts are very helpful and welcoming. The choice of breakfast is amazing with lovely fresh fruits available every day. Room is very clean and pkeasant, even though it was warm when we arrived we were immediately offered a fan to use which was put to good use over the first few days, so we were... More

Wendy and Derek were very welcoming even though we booked a different room for each night of our stay due to the place being busy. This meant two lots of bed changes for them, but they didn't bat an eyelid and even moved our bags for us whist we were out. The rooms were good and clean, but a little... More

The food was consistently good. However the room had not seen a duster for a considerable period, hairs were found in the bed and during our stay an empty bottle of mineral water bottle was removed from the bin and refilled with tap water.

Have recently had a couple more visits to Dorchester (due to other half's hospital visits - see previous review). Knew Joan had retired, so wondered what changes might have been made by the new owners. Arrived and were greeted by Wendy & Derek who were so friendly and welcoming that we know straight away that it would still be a... More

We have just stayed for three nights at Aquila Heights and we are happy to say that we would recommend this B&B to anybody who is looking for a quality place to stay. Yes they are new owners but they already seem to know the way to succeed. The place is clean, with a large range of toiletries in a... More
