Had a one night stay during our road trip through Dorset. Recommended by a friend as being dog friendly and it certainly is! We arrived at 8.30pm and received a warm welcome from the manager who wanted to ensure we were able to have a meal as the kitchen closed at 9. Food was great - huge portions. Nice to... More

last stayed here nine years ago because it was dog friendly and we had a pooch. Still dog friendly and still a good place to stay. good pub grub and well kept ale. friendly staff and very pleasant to sit outside to enjoy a pint.

This Inn really is in the middle of nowhere but, well worth the drive along typical Dorset side roads. Sunday lunch carvery - huge portions and great choices. The starter garlic bread is really a garlic loaf! Couldn't eat another thing for the rest of the day and reasonably priced too. Staff friendly and efficient too. Well worth a visit.

If you are looking for a dog-friendly hotel in rural Dorset - this is it! Lovely little inn in a tiny village, but not far away from all the attractions the county has to offer. Dogs are not only tolerated, but made completely welcome, with little details like brollies and poo bags by the garden door. But we were dog-less... More

What a beautiful part of the country. Rolling hills, gorgeous houses and a wonderful hotel. The fox inn is a stunning building, completely dog friendly but does have a separate dining area for those guests that prefer to dine without their furry friends. Our room 106 was clean tidy and had everything we needed , hairdryer tv and fan etc.... More

Food and staff/service very good. Room cleaning left a little to be desired. Room and pub nice but if you are staying there and want to stay outside then nowhere comfortably to sit. Rooms are very nice but ours had little head room, so ended up with a few bumps on our heads. But all OK when you got used... More

Spent several days/nights here this week and felt we had struck gold. From the welcome, in the bar, in the restaurant and especially at breakfast. The food is excellent. There is plenty of parking. Our room was lovely and light and large. One point though is that there is not a lift. I struggled. Lovely central point for sightseeing from.... More

Just called for a drink and meal in the evening. Ate in the back room where there were families with young children. This was our choice rather than the restaurant area, however the room is a little characterless and bare. We saw they do bespoke pies to order but the portions were huge and we'd eaten at lunchtime so went... More

I had agreed to take friends out to dinner, arrived and eventually found someone who would take us to our table. We sat down and ordered our wine. and Olives, 15 minutes later one of us went to find someone and the new girl appeared with our wine. We ordered our food and waited for a while before it turned... Thank you for your review however, I feel you may have the wrong property. The majority of the points you have raised are not applicable to us here at the Fox Inn, Ansty. We have had no new members of staff here for over six months, so difficult to place who you mention in the review. We have not had... More

We popped in for a pub lunch and chose the Vixen platter and bread and olives both to share, and both absolutely delicious, plus very generous helpings. Keith, Sharon and their crew were all very friendly and we could not fault them, I promise that it will not be another thirty years before we come again!!
