A really enjoyable stay. Situated in a very pretty English village. The accommodation was very clean and tastefully decorated and the room appointed with everything you would expect and more besides. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and extremely helpful. The food at dinner was exceptional and breakfast delicious. I Would highly recommend. You really are doing... More

We stayed for two nights on a B&B basis. The rooms are in a converted stable block across the car park from the pub itself. We were allocated a room on the ground floor. On entering the room, we felt it smelt a bit damp and musty. We soon found out that this was due to the bathroom extractor fan... More

Back to the Greyhound in Sydling St Nicholas, Dorset. The rooms are as clean and cared for as we remember. The bar still has a welcome local feel and the full English breakfast this morning was excellent.

Came to meet friends last night. Haven't been here for over 10 years. Great feel as soon as you walk in- warm welcome by the staff. Great variety of beers, ales and cider. Food was just lovely, amazing presentation and so so tasty. Leave room for a desert even if it's a couple of scoops of delicious ice creams! Will... More

We stayed here for 5 nights and used it as a base to explore Dorset. Sydling St Nicholas is a very pretty village and short walks can be made from the inn. We were able to travel to different parts of The Jurassic Coast in less than an hour. Dorchester, Cerne Abbas and other tourist attractions are very close. Our... More

In many ways a typical village pub, important to local social life but quite sophisticated, slightly upmarket. Good food backed by unusually good service not cheap but acceptable pricing. A regular for us over years, too many changes of management but currently seemingly well-run and welcoming>A pleasure to eat outside (and in).

In my first room the television did not work so I was moved to a family room which was huge and had possibly the largest television I've seen in a hotel room. The rooms have all been refurbished and come with a lovely rain shower, very nicely done, nice friendly helpful staff. The only downside was an early morning call... More

My father in law booked a table here has he was down to visit for the day. We were not disappointed. Food and service was excellent. Car park was full on arrival but we managed to park just outside on the main road. Would definitely visit again. A little gem that is less than 10 minutes from our place but... More

We spent two nights at They Greyhound at the end of June. It was lovely, the food was great, the room was luxurious, the locations was perfect for our needs (running a marathon). We had such a great time that I came home, logged onto The Greyhound Inn's own website and booked a room for the following year. I was... More

The Greyhound Inn SEEMS to be in the middle of nowhere (in fact it is) set in its tiny village of Sidling St Nicholas along the Dorchester to Yeovil road - but there is a great deal going on there BECAUSE it is so good. As a pub it is superb. Comfortable with tons of old charm. As a restaurant... More
