LOVED OUR ROOM "JAMES BROWN". INITIAL THOUGHTS ON ENTERING THE PUB AND OUR ROOM WAS OF HOW WELL KEPT THE PLACE IS. VERY FRIENDLY MAN IN THE PUB, MADE OUR STAY A PLEASURE. FOOD AND PUB ARE LOVELY. Couldnt fault it at all. They have a glass floor covering an ancient well..(NICE TOUCH) Very well thought out establishment. Room was...

We stayed for one night at The Greyhound while on a walking weekend in Dorset. The Greyhound is a lovely country pub, undergoing renovation when we were there to extend the dining room. It is beautifully decorated and a really pleasant place to go for a meal or drink. The service was very good throughout and the food was good...

Stayed for 2 nights at the Greyhound Inn and felt welcomed as soon as we walked in. Throughout our stay the friendly service was great, the rooms were comfy and the food excellent quality. We stayed in dog friendly rooms and ate in the bar area where the dogs are allowed. The dogs were spoilt with biscuits, while we had...

This is a lovely inn, full of character, off the beaten track and staffed by friendly people. However, the place is somewhat let down by the food. It's OK, you can eat it, but it is distinctly average, particularly when you consider the relatively high prices to be paid. We took the meat and ale pie and the mushroom risotto....

Lovely country pub that gives a warm welcome and serves very good food, although the vegetarian options need a bit more thought given to them as they don't live up to the rest of the menu (although to be fair the menu changes regularly (daily?) so perhaps another time it would be more inspiring!)

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Greyhound. Lovely room, well appointed, tea/coffee making facilities. Ate in restaurant, food good and well presented, however my Tuna steak was over done. I felt they could improve the layout of breakfast. You had to help yourself to cereal and juices from a rather small, extremely crowded table, so no room to put you...

A beautiful pub in a lovely location and very dog friendly. We stayed for a couple of nights at The Greyhound, it's a really friendly pub, good food, really comfortable rooms. We would definitely recommend it.

Firstly, beware . . . . although Trip Advisor might suggest otherwise, this pub with rooms is NOT in Dorchester . . . . .its a good fifteen minute drive down winding roads out into the countryside. The accommodation is in a separate block across the courtyard. Rooms are small and slightly constrained by the sloping eaves which can cause...

Thank you for leaving your review. There are just a couple of points I would like to raise. Yes, on Tripadvisor we do mention that we are in Dorchester, however, our full address is displayed which also indicates that we are in the village of Sydling St Nicholas, DT2. We are known for being a dog friendly pub. Given that...

What an amazingly warm welcome my husband and I received. The accommodation and food were lovely but the service was out of this world. Nothing was too much trouble for us or our dog who was spoilt rotten during our entire stay. THANK YOU

SUPERB! Stayed for 3 nights with work. Couldn't wish for a better stay. Room, food and staff were all first class. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone. Hopefully I will get the chance to go back.
