As an Hilton Honours Diamond member I've stayed several times at the Bournemouth Hilton and was more disappointed with the standard of the hotel after this visit than I can remember. My main concern was the Hilton policy on dogs in the hotel. I was amazed to see a large number of dogs whether in the bar or being taken into the restaurant which I believe is unacceptable as not everyone wants to be surrounded by animals. One member of my family is allergic to animal hair and I was astounded to learn from reception that ALL rooms in the Hotel are "pet friendly" - the cleaning staff simply do not have enough time to clean efficiently to minimize the risk of an allergic reaction to pet hair and dust. One incident of a dog defecating in the lobby while people were queuing for breakfast was particularly unpleasant. There were a number of stains on the carpets in my room that may well have been caused by pets so this Hilton isn't as clean as I remember. If the Hilton insists on allowing pets why not have rooms dedicated as pet friendly and other rooms/floors designated pet free as they do in other hotels? Overall, the COVID safety measures were effective and the bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient, although the breakfast choice was limited. However, there were no robes in the room and not even a laundry bag - it seems that Hilton are using COVID as an excuse to reduce the amenities in the rooms. I will not be returning to this Hilton while they have a policy of allowing pets into all rooms. Interestingly, the Hampton next door ( a less luxurious Hilton brand) has a policy of no pets and a more extensive buffet breakfast. I had expected better from a the Hilton Bournemouth

Dear NicholasH854, Many thanks for writing your review following your stay with us. I am so sorry to read your experience with our policies on pets. We do allow pets in all our bedrooms however we do ensure that all bedrooms are fully cleaned afterwards and especially since Covid with our Hilton CleanStay sensitisation policy. We do not allow pets in our restaurant area so I am sorry that this was your experience. Thank you for your kind comments on the new safety measure we have in place and the bar and restaurant staff. We do appreciate your feedback to help us improve our service standards further. Kind Regards Sonya Young General Manager

Hotel's Favorite
The hotel is very centrally located, the parking is easy and not expensive. From the welcome at reception from Peter to my departure, the staff were exemplary under the circumstances (COVID). Everything was explained clearly and precisely by the staff who as far as I saw did a tremendous job. Although, as always, there are always professional complainers, some people were objecting to having to get up from the table to get their food and drinks, a Covid procedural requirement, frankly, these people shouldn’t be allowed out. The staff were doing what they were told and doing it correctly. What more could you ask?. The hotel was very clean, tidy and very well presented. My room, a King Guest room was perfect. The food at breakfast and dinner was very enjoyable. I shall certainly return! Thank you to all at Hilton Bournemouth !

Dear Goldhawk123, Many thanks for taking the time to write your review following your stay with us. I am very disappointed to read your comments on the maintenance in the bedroom which is far from our normal standards. The hotel is currently closed during the lockdown period so we will be assessing all the maintenance issues in your room and reviewing our breakfast offering as we have had this amended a few times to adhere to the government guidelines. We hope we can welcome you back to the hotel again to show you our normal operations and standards on reopening. Kind Regards Sonya Young General Manager

Stayed here for almost a week. Good and enjoyable stay. Superb breakfast and throughout our stay Covid 19 regulations were followed with social distancing, hand sanitizers and the wearing of face masks. One frustration was trying to park my vehicle late on in the evening where some vehicles occupied two spaces. Had to park across the road which was OK apart from getting soaked one night. However the receptionist on duty handled the situation in a positive way and made sure I was reimbursed for the nights when I didn't use the car park. Had booked a room with a balcony - great if you wanted to look across the street!

I’ve booked two rooms and Called prior to my visit to arrange connecting rooms and a spa visit. When I arrived at checking in time with two children and a poorly mum I was told there has been no prior arrangements and the rooms I’ve booked wasn’t available. I had to wait until 7 o’clock at night to gain entry to my room and that was only because I harassed management.Once I got into my room I was very disappointed to the level of the room the ripped curtains the curtains not attached to the ceiling the burn marks on the side table and the lack of anything that showed me this was not a budget hotel. We missed half of our spa time as robes on were not provided, the one-way system in the lift is dysfunctional and you end up waiting 15 minutes to get up and down and the promise of a call from management to rectify the situation didn’t appear. Tbh the lack of customer service is diabolical and I expect more from the Hilton hotel I have Stayed at many Hiltons across the world and I have never experienced such a low maintained environment and a mass disregard by management for customers that have made prior arrangements.

Dear Mehmkel, Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay with Hilton Bournemouth. I am sorry to hear that the room was not up-to your expectations and we have our maintenance team busy fixing the curtains mentioned, so thank you for bringing that to my attention. We have had to make some changes to the way we operate the hotel at present due to current guidelines, including removing additional items such as robes from the bedrooms, however these are available on request, I will look into why it took so long for you to be able to attain some for your Spa visit. We have also introduced one way system for the lifts to maintain our guests safety, which at peak times can get busy, this is something we are looking to rectify whilst also ensuring the upmost safety of our guests and team members during this difficult time. Thank you again for your valued feedback Kind regards Sonya Young General Manager
