Beautiful property in lovely grounds and gardens with plenty of parking. We enjoyed a family get together weekend over the early May bank holiday. The hotel had recently been taken over by new management and our hosts were extremely sociable and accommodating. We really enjoyed breakfast in the lovely breakfast room and the bonus of two sitting rooms meant we...

The beautiful Victorian property is simple to find and has plenty of parking spaces. The welcome is warm and genuine and decor is tasteful in the entry hall. Room 9 is a lovely double with a very comfy bed good bedding and ample furniture. The bathroom was clean as were towels the shower is excellent if slightly noisy. Overall we...

This was simply fantastic. The hotel had really nice clean rooms and 2 lounges with a bar and 2 living rooms you can use to chill out, watch tv or read a book! Really friendly staff - always asking you are ok and have all you need! Upon check in I was shown the breakfast menu and advised we could...

It was good value for money. The room was small but comfortable. The host was very welcoming, letting me book in at 10am and letting me stay in the lounge until my coach departed at 1. The breakfast was good but cost is not included in the room cost. A fridge and microwave was available in front of stairs to...

I chose this hotel based on reviews and its location. Location was just what I needed, but I was disappointed overall. Hotel itself is lovely - characterful, quirky and with lots of space downstairs available for guests to use. Wifi throughout which was good. Breakfast was a good size and tasty. The room and way it is run was too...

Just returned from a one night stay at Wood lodge. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and found the hotel to be a great location for beach and town. I agree with the other reviews that say it is slightly dated but this can be overlooked as we found everything else to be great. The breakfast was very good...

Lovely stay, only one night. The room was large and clean and tidy. The welcome very pleasant and made me feel at home. Yes you could say it was a little dated, but it had character and it was interesting, I'm sure we don't all our hotels to be ultra modern! It had charm. I would certainly return just to...

We liked this comfy b&b in Bournemouth that was a 5 minute walk to the beach and 10-15 minutes to the pier. It was also about 15 minutes walk from the train station so all in all very close to everything, we never had to get a taxi. The bathroom needed updating and the 'rules' are a little quirky. There...

Really nice and friendly hotel. Good location. Breakfast was really good. However, I would prefer to choose on the day and not the day before. But as I am usually a full English person that's not a big issue. It was our second visit there and we are returning again in November for our sons graduation.

The breakfast was also very good. The parking was great and the hotel was well placed to get into the town. I would recommend this hotel/b&b and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are situated on the East cliff of Bournemouth, the famous 7 miles of sandy beach can be reached in a matter of minutes or a 15 minute stroll along the cliff top and through the gardens will take you to the centre of the Town. The Wood Lodge was built in the early 1900's and has retained many of the original features added to the house then. It has the feel of a manor house set in large, green leafy gardens to the front and rear which add to the relaxing and quiet atmosphere you can expect to experience here. It is, however, only a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of the town centre ... more   less
