Overall stay was adequate for what we needed but amended check out time and was confirmed prior to stay, was woken and hurried out of the room 1 hour and 45 minutes before agreed check out time to be told "they don't do this and I was lying" didn't wish to argue and just left.

Being a small hotel and team we are very aware of any agreed late checkouts. First you said you agreed a late check out for 1pm telephonically, then you changed and said you received confirmation by email which you were unable to show. Yet we still allowed you to check out at 12.15pm. We always limit late check out times... More

We were there for a conference, so booked the hotel on the basis that it was close to the conference centre. The hotel is well placed to walk to the conference centre and is about 10 minutes from the centre of town. The rooms were basic, but clean. The bathroom was incredibly small, the shower somewhat lacking in power. There... More

We stayed here for three nights, the hotel was well situated for the town centre and the bic and beach.the hotel was very clean and tidy and well looked after, maybe a picture or two on the bedroom wall would have made the room more homely.breakfast was great as were the staff who were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.wi-fi... we paid £120 for two nights . it's in a good location near seafront , had a chinese take away one night which was good . nice employees . rooms are small but comfy bed and everything you need . one bad point was terrible reception on the tv . nice bar with good variety and Sky TV .

By far the most uncomfortable hotel i've stayed in yet. Outside temperature 0 degrees inside the same. Receptionist went out of his way to be unhelpful. Breakfast ? Spend your hard earned £7 odd somewhere else and be happy. We picked this hotel because of the good reviews, what a dissapointment indeed !!!

Please can you check that you have submitted your review to the correct hotel. We haven't had any guests of the name Ozzie or similar stay with us recently and our central heating have been on and is functioning perfectly. So we are very confused by your comments. More

What a beautiful gem of a hotel on the West Cliff run by the lovely Tiien and Charlene. The Applewood is clean, chic and welcoming and has great priced rooms too. Thanks for an amazing function last Saturday too...

Good points : hotel location very near town centre, free car park, free wifi, recently redecorated, kettle and coffe/tea in rooms, staff very helpful over phone at time of booking 😀 Bad points: small double far too small ( no space for hanging clothes on hangers, only hooks ) especially the bathroom ( cannot clean your teeth at washbasin if... Dear Caroline, we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We are surprised that you had an issue with noise as you were staying in the room downstairs which is tucked away. The door lock seems to be working fine when we checked it now. We left a spare hair dryer in the draw... More

Rooms: Rooms were slightly on the small side but tolerable for my length of stay. Got all the trimmings with the kettle. Food: For me, this is the important bit. Which is fine because the food didn't take 65years to come out of the kitchen, nice and hot and the choice is flexible. Staff and checkin Checkin was fast even... More

Very Friendly Staff. Room was in immaculate condition. Ample parking. 5 minutes drive to the beach and morning cooked breakfast was awesome and unlimited. Whole family enjoyed. Wifi was a problem, but staff was quick to sort it out. Price was reasonable. Will sure recommend.

Not good here, room cold, no hot water, drunk young people shouting in the lobby area at 3 in the morning and no staff to complain to. Don't stay here if want a quiet night away. Not worth the money I paid too.
