Not the first time I’ve stayed here, so it’s certainly not all bad. Convenient, reasonably priced accommodation for town and beach. Our room was clean, but on the ground floor and there was noise from cars parking outside at night. The walls were also very thin and there was a lot of noise from children in the room next door, from the early hours, plus running down the corridor from 5.30am. Good social distancing measures have been put in place, it’s not the fault of the staff that lots of customers were ignoring them. Only putting face masks on when approaching the desk, or the restaurant area, rather than wearing them in corridors out of sight. Criticisms - car parking. The underground car park is awkward to get around due to a large number of metal pillars (obviously necessary to hold the building up), but that’s no excuse for some of the parking in there. Cars were blocking multiple spaces making the limited spaces inadequate. We needed to park down a road a short walk away. Staff we’re unable to do anything about the appalling parking skills of several drivers. The plus side was that parking a short walk away was actually free as opposed to paying. Breakfast was good and well organised. Again, a small criticism was the table cleaning routine. Tables were cleaned adequately. But chairs had a mere swipe across the seat with a cloth. No attention was paid to the areas that hands would touch before eating, such as the backs of the chair (pulling the chair out to sit down) or the edges of the seat (where it will be held to pull the chair back under the table while sitting on it). Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful.…
We were staying in Bournemouth travelodge for a couple of nights and we're situated on the ground floor however we could hear people above walking around in their room and dogs barking in nearby rooms. We are used to staying at Travelodge but found this one to be dirty there were crumbs on the floor in our room. We stayed as 3 adults in one room and had a double bed and 2 small beds made up but only needed 1 of the beds I asked at reception for them to remove 1 if the beds but they were unable to due to Covid which is fair enough but made the room very tight to get around but I'm sure at the time of booking I specified that we only required 1 bed. The location was just outside of the centre of Bournemouth about a 10 - 15 min walk.
Had a two night stay in October. found the room clean and of a good size. Our room was at the rear of the premises so did not suffer from any road noise but think the walls were quite thin as I could hear somebody snoring most of the night and they were very noisy when they woke up at 6.30am. The hotel is well located for seafront walks at Boscombe. Parking was £4 a day in an underground park and we had no trouble finding a parking space. Did not have much contact with the staff, only when booking in and used the speedy no contact service when leaving.
Had a great couple of days in Bournemouth made easier by the Travelodge. The room was fine with really close access to the lift which helped my wife as she finds walking difficult. There was really close access to the important shops that we needed during our stay and the staff were really polite and helpful. Recommended
