Thoroughly enjoyed our stay as part of a bowls tour. Room very good, cleaned with fresh towels daily. Staff most courteous and helpful. Dining area bright and cheerful. Very good menu choices both at breakfast and evening and food always piping hot. Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel which overlooks fabulous gardens and a short walk to beach and... Really enjoyed our stay at the Whitehall Hotel, no complaints at all, hotel was good, room very clean and well presented upon our arrival, staff were great and very helpful, great location for us and our dog. Food was good and they catered well for a gluten free diet. We would definitely recommend and I am sure we will go... More

Our annual visit - this time with friends who were more than impressed with their (short) visit. As always the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was a 'big' birthday for the wife and Sara certainly made sure we would remember it! All being well our annual visit next year will be just as good as the previous 10... More

We stayed at this hotel on a Monday to Thursday break and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hotel describes itself as being Edwardian and because of this is does seem a bit old fashioned, however the rooms were clean and comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. The breakfast at the hotel is quite limited, it's either a fry up or cereal,... More

Thanks for the review. We really hope you got what you wanted for breakfast – cereal and a full English are certainly very popular. Thanks for the recommendation and we do hope you will return soon. More

Travelled with family, had a double and single room. Rooms are dated and in need of upgrading, in saying that they are spotlessly clean and beds very comfortable, we had good sleeps, rooms were spacious as well. Public areas are bar, restaurant etc are clean and tidy generally well presented, all in all its a very traditional type of hotel.... More

We’re really pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for taking time leave a review. Parking is an issue for most older hotels with small car parks, and we feel that charging the same as local public car parks is the fairest way of addressing the issue. We do hope you find the time to visit again. More

I spent 5 nights on my own at The Whitehall in August. I chose it for its location, which is excellent, 5 mins to beach and the same to the town. It is small with 50 something rooms. It's a little old fashioned with its chintzy curtains and dated bedroom furniture. The rooms however (3 nights in a single and 1... More

Thanks for the lovely review. Our ‘old-fashionedness’ is something we like to carry over into our service, and the staff here are genuinely pleased to be able to make your stay as peasant as possible. We hope you have many more, equally pleasant ‘old-fashioned’ hotel experiences. More

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for a night on the last weekend of August 2016 and weren't very impressed. On arrival we were given our room key and told our room was ready but the maintenance guy was fixing a broken lamp in the room. We got up to our room to find his work tools spread... More

It appears our reception team were trying to be helpful by facilitating an early check-in, and there was a slight misunderstanding. We assure you that our maintenance team work hard to ensure that any repairs are carried out with as little disruption as possible. Our hotel was built in a time when not everyone drove, and our car park is... More

I stayed here while travelling on my own in mid July 2016. I agree with the comments saying the hotel is very old-fashioned, but by no means is that a bad thing. This isn't the place to stay if you are looking for a modern luxury hotel, but it is the place to choose if you want a comfortable stay.... More

Stayed at the Whitehall Hotel with my son for two nights in mid-August, a last minute find through booking.com The hotel is in a great location in a small crescent, just off the Exeter Road and overlooking Bournemouth's lower gardens, so lovely views at the rear of the hotel. Handy for the town centre and the lovely beach. We got... More
